Miltos killin it over here.
This is one of the things that is a bit frustrating.
Great video showing how one could take a single sound, in this case a scream, and turn it into all the elements of a complete song then compose, all in house on tracker. I canāt wait for this thing.
Havenāt used my Tracker for days, but this gives me some inspiration.
is PT sending midi retrig?
good one! getting tired of all the 8-bit video gamey vids being done with PT.
I quite like this one!
**āA bit of dumb luck for the frantically inpatientā **
**-or- **
āThe early bird (who was actually late) gets the wormā.
A GAS fueled story.
Iām not sure why I kept searching Reverb.com for a PT⦠The only one listed there is a preorder, showing the same timeline as my current preorder, from a shop half a world away from me. Eventually, even this advert would tempt me down a silly GAS fueled thought spiral⦠ācould I theoretically get it a few days sooner by preordering from a shop closer to the factory source, then having it personally shipped to the US v.s. Having it go through the same process with Sweetwater as middleman?āā¦
The first several times I saw this add I had no such thoughts. It didnāt pop out as a potential option. I hadnāt dug deep into specs and was only aware of about 50% of the PTās current capabilities.
The gas was tame.
Still, I searched.
Somewhere in my mind was the thought of an early purchaser not clicking with the tracker and selling it. āMaybe thereās a shop who has been sitting on a unit from the first batch and have just been delayed on making their virtual posting for it? Huh, nope⦠but wait, what about now?ā.
Each day the searching became subtly more frequent⦠and expansive.
I knew it was a foolās errand, but Iām not ashamed to admit that I searched fairly religiously, on loop like some delusional every-four-hour groundhogs day⦠Reverb, Craigslist across the US, vague googling, several forums, etc⦠for any way to NOT WAIT until Sweetwater preorders will be fulfilled to get my hands on a PT.
The gas had grown.
This brings us to within the last 36 hours.
Still best bet with my Sweetwater preorder and a vague late September ship date.
Does the gas only madden us?
Is it always best to silence such impulses?
Well, kind Elektronauts, Iām here to tell you that there is hope for the frantically impatient few of you who might find yourself in a similar situation to the above outlined⦠because yesterday morning, around 8am my first break reverb search yielded two, thatās right, TWO results. The first listing was my old friend, TURNLAB from Belgium, and their recently tempting preorder. Below that listing sat my fate. I felt it the moment that I saw it.
Click through⦠is it real? ⦠search for the dreaded words, PRE ORDER⦠the evil words are not there though⦠?.. ! ⦠This seems to be the real deal⦠is it scam?.. nope, legit shop in Maryland with over 3,000 five-star reverb reviews⦠f-it, order immediately then call the shop to double check that itās in their physical possession and ready to ship⦠add to cart!.. in cart.!.. check outā¦!.. OMGā¦!!!.. it all goes through!!!
I called the shop, who confirmed that it was certainly everything that I had hoped⦠A brand new Polyend Tracker, in their physical possession and ready to ship out. Yāall, itās due to show up on Tuesday and at this point Iām just hoping Iām not writing a very wordy jinx on myself via this post.
Iām sure the gas is something we can all relate to, maybe not for this odd duck tracker, but likely you have felt it. Most of the time the gas is just annoying. Something to shove in to a dark corner until your gear shows up or that one thing is finally released. We suppress it or we embrace it or we do a strange dance in between the two, but very rarely does it seem to be worth much more than unnecessary lusting.
Yesterday, however, the gas was my hero. Today Iām thankful for the gas and feel a little less silly for having searched so rigorously for what seemed to be so fruitless.
Thanks for reading. I hope this helps you justify your gas. Or was at least mildly entertaining.
Glad you like it
What do you mean by midi retrig ?
What I have done to avoid the latency issue when syncing the Tracker to something else is to make it send trigger or midi event to everything. So it triggers the bass drum from the A4, one channel is used to play the Grandmother, and gour channels are converted to CV trigger (via the A4 as well) to trigger the Serge / 0-Coast / Shared System / JX3P.
The other drum sounds are 909 and DX samples.
I meanā¦like Elektron retriggerā¦[ratchet]. Does the PT do that with midi?
I see you CV-ed it.
Cool track
Ah yes indeed thereās plenty of roll effect on the midi channel, it work very well and if you assign velocity to some funky parameter you can have some very interresting results by using the Rv and RV roll effects (it will make the velocito up or down while retrigering)
I should make a videoi about that iām sure it can be helpful.
That was awesome. More pleaseš
i bought a tomtoc sleeve on amazon for 18 euros, the 13inch version. superlight, padded inside, small bag outside for batterypack and cables.
could anyone pls let me know if thereās been any news on that sample editor volume bug? (sry i canāt check the last 300 msgs right now)
It was fixed completely.
but when? the first entry or mention i can recall (i think that was fotopaul) was long after the recent update, if iām not wrong?
and over here it does the same thing as always, being dangerously loud. i ended up putting up all the instrument levels to a 100%, even then the sample editor is louder and clearer. also sounds like when you crank all the volumes up it starts sounding not that good tbh.
Its a beta firmware update but it has been fixed.
any link for this or date?
But i get your frustration, I was using my Tracker thru a mixer and would just change the volume on my mixer every time I switched between sample editor, playback, recorder etc
I donāt have a link or date I just can tell you its fixed on mine. So hopefully very soon you wonāt have to deal with that stuff.
Links to beta firmware are not allowed. But I think it wonāt be very long before a update will arrive.
