Hi, I’m not the only one asking for this, but it’s a shame, a disappointment and a frustration that a machine as incredibly good as the analog rymt II doesn’t have at least a second HP filter to remove bass. I don’t know if this will ever be implemented. I’m not saying it has to have 3 LFO’s like the Digitakt II that would be awesome, but I would settle for just one extra HP filter please. I hope that moment will come someday, thank you.

It won’t ever be implemented both because the filter on the AR is an analog circuit and the devs have said the update 1.70 maxed out its processing power. There’s nothing left to implement a digital filter per voice.
So nope, it’s not happening.

Elektron has definitely surprised us (ie Octatrack trig conditions was routinely said “not possible “ on this forum but then it happened) so I won’t say it will never happen, but, it’s very unlikely.
A second lfo was highly demanded/hoped for and that never happened either.
A second filter would probably have to be digital and if a second LFO hasn’t happened, a filter is even less likely (I believe an lfo would be less cpu demanding than a good sounding filter…but I could be wrong).
The general mantra on Elektronauts is “accept it for what it is” and honestly, that is tough sometimes when other units have gotten massive upgrades recently, but it is the way.

I don’t think they’ve done a 2nd filter on any device so it’s unlikely. ( unless of course you setup something like the octatrack tracks )
You could sample and remove the bass on those samples used in the rytm.
If you need a 2nd filter I’d suggest you buy a piece of equipment with that feature instead of waiting.
Or use individual outs and external eq/filter.

Digital mixer - makes it sound much cleaner with single outs. (And EQ)
Technically the Digitone and Digitakt (and maybe the syntakt… can’t remember) have secondary hp and lo filters without resonance.
They are immensely useful when mixing

Yeah, Digitakt and Digitone both had second non-resonant filters added after the fact. Syntakt had it since launch, but I believe only on the digital tracks. Digitakt 2 and Digitone 2 both have second filters.
There’s most likely nothing to intercept the signal, since everything is analog from the Sound Generator on.
(I agree that a HPF is missing for making full songs, but Rytm was never meant to be something else than a drum machine. On the other hand, it send me down a beautiful rabbit hole of making it work nonetheless, strategically building huge kicks and big basslines against each other, embracing the dirtiness and oldschoolness.)

isn’t A4 has 2 filters?
there’s no way to add analog filter anyways, the only option would be to add gentle HP/LP filter is for samples only, which would be nice to have for sure, but if you’re looking to have HP for your DVCO/RAW/whatever analog engine you’d need to resample for that.
it has individual outs so a mixer would be a faster way to get better mix.

Not to mention how fun an external mixer can be and how cheap they are secondhand. Cool way to add character too (old Mackie/boss esp.)

Still … good luck with the feature request … see you in 10 yrs when I would suspect you are still waiting. Unless you try one of the other boxes

I think I only seen this come up on the feature request thread and wasn’t aware of the one you’re referencing, maybe OP didn’t know too, but searching for second filter rytm gives that thread in 3rd result after this one and the feature request, so yeah, could’ve been searched for.
like which? there’s plenty of rytm useful threads that get decent amount of traction, like the 1.70 sound or the tips and tricks for example, bulk of new topics about rytm are tech support-ish, once the issue (whatever it may be) is resolved there’s not much to talk about…
yeah don’t see this happening too, I think the window of having it implemented gone with 1.70, never say never but don’t see it coming, mixer or resampling is the way
Thanks for your answers, we will keep working, enjoying the AR and trimming bass externally, but it’s a pity that there are no more options from the machine.

Anyway, I also don’t think it’s coming.
Trimming bass externally (through multiple outputs or OB), or managing with compressor/distortion/symmetry, etc. is definitely the way to go.

I’d love to have the base-width filter on the analog machines in the ST. I had a AR for a while and was always bummed to not be able to cut the lows.
Oh well. Maybe some day in the future the base-width will come to the analog machines…

Actually using what you have > fantasy threads.
Maybe that’s the underlying point, when you’re actually using your Elektrons you don’t find the need or time to make these threads.
Signal to noisewise it would make the forum quieter but more useful.
