Some Cortini waves there…I liked it!
If anyone in the U.K/Europe is still after one of the Blackboxes… there’s 1 available at Gear4Music, they had 2 in their store that hadn’t went live due to an error, I just snapped one up as I been eying it for a while. So if you’re quick. Pittsburgh told me they won’t be making anymore til the end of the year.
Anyone care to share their love for this nutjob?
I love mine!
Love mine too …
Looks incredible, $999 though.
I need to start a change.org petition to get them to stop making stuff.
In a weird way, I feel safer from the pull of amazing looking boxes like this by having a half-empty modular case!
Although now you will tell me I could rack it…
I’m not sure what’s going on with this. It appeared on their own site, but when you try and click order it goes on to their blog…I’m pretty sure the situation was it wasn’t blackbox and they weren’t making any more… maybe published by mistake, who know.
subduct It looks like the same box as the sv1, so yeah, you could probably rack it.
I like this but I cannot find it in stock…
As usual I missed the kickstarter… might have to start saving for one of these. Sounds beautiful to my ears. Expensive but probably cheaper than a Buchla!
I made a new post earlier. I’m positive, really positive, that this wasn’t on the synths page on their website some weeks back. It was just microvolt and sv1.
I didn’t realise the original was a black box device.
Maybe they’re doing a new batch, promotion isn’t their strong point, nor are manuals…
For cheap westcoast the pico system 3 + 0-ctrl + a CV OCD for really good midi to CV, all that comes in at around 1000. It is also totally worth looking at for a complete little westcoast style system. I am a bit surprised erica synth did push the westcoast side of the pico system 3 in the marketing a bit more.
Either way both are fantastic cheaper westcoast options, I was really on the fence on the Voltage Reaserch Lab but ended up with the pico system 3 and I think it probably suits me a bit better. too many good options these days… certainly wouldn’t mind one of these and one of the new buchla easels.
Blackbox version + 0-ctrl would be an awesome option for a bit cheaper now also. The timing knobs on the 0-ctrl are such a great way to push creativity. Plus the built in envelope on the 0-crtl is maybe my favorite envelope of plucky sounds… the way it adapts with the str knob is incredible.
Thanks for the tips.
Fortunatley australian prices are so insane right now I’m not buying anything.
Also, I’m still in my ‘buy no new synths for a a year’ thing.
However… once that’s over, and if aussie prices ever resemble reality again…
I absolutely loved the VRL & got one from the original Kickstarter, which was amazing value for money. Sadly it ended up being one of my machines that had to be sold as sacrifice to the altar of the KARP 2600 FS … but I would absolutely consider getting one again.
My only real bugbear with the VRL were some of the shift button functions - the buttons are tiny, the whole thing is tiny & often that was a struggle. Wonderful synth though. The touch control / sequencer is brilliant.
Having said that, if I wanted West Coast at a future point I might just save for longer & get an Easel Command…
Yep, Voltage Lab is coming back…
This product will be available for purchase soon
About £760.
not sure if this should go here or in a new thread…
there is a Voltage Lab 2 coming soon - May 14th?
and a bit of a look at it in this live stream:
its 90HP X 2 for the synth and the controller thingy
It’s already being discussed over here, following on from other recent new Pittsburgh synths
+1 for a new thread.
I would have been neutral about it, but I was searching for this and almost couldn’t find it.
