Oxi Instruments E16 MIDI-Controller

Ah, good to know. This must have changed since I had mine. I had a back and forth with Mathias several years ago when I was trying to create mappings for a Toraiz AS-1. For example, for NRPN values of 0…255, it was suggested to set lower=0, upper=2, disp=1000. But this meant that a max value of 255 was shown as 0992 on EC-4.
I think for these kind of custom controllers, something like an Electra One might be better where, for example, you can actually select from a list of oscillator shapes instead of numeric values etc.

I just found out, that EC4 cannot do NRPN for push buttons though at all! Bummer.
And max NRPN value is actually 255, so you were right.

i use a midi fighter twister with my octatrack would love to have a oxi E16 would save me time to setup on my rig without the need to save each setting on midi fighter on the computer

How are you using the midifighter with the octatrack mate? Looking to use mine with a digitone 2 for mod wheel modulation control. As both are usb B I wasn’t sure if a usb b to b cable would work. Trying scope out the options without needing the computer as the interface between the two.

You will need a midi host, for instance a computer, in between the Digitone/Octatrack and the midi fighter. A direct cable will not work.

Legend thank you!

yes mate i use with the octarack and conductive labs mrcc as a host as you can see on rig no computer need it

MIDI fighter is ios compatible. You can route it to any device using AUM.

So this thing has a sort of group function, like the quick performance knobs on A4/AR, am I getting that right?

This is what i am also looking for the most. Making snapshots for different midi mappings and controlling them with single knob

Headsup, we got a new leak:

Okay, this is one AI quote that I for once don’t hope someone flags!

Has this been mentioned? On the Oxi homepage the newsletter signup push explicitly mentions ”be the first to know about E16”

If it can sequence I may be interested, just like with one or two other knob-based MIDI controllers I’ve seen around.

Has that page gone now?

No, scroll down there’s a ”stay in the loop” link showing up on the right after a while (on phone at least), that opens the above shown form

Curious about the price tag ! Interesting little device for sure !

Hope around 350 Euro mark

That would be a great price, in the same range as the FaderFox - which I am looking to replace.

The E16 looking quite more elaborate, I’m afraid it would be more expensive.
