Swap destinations is a game changer for sure
this can be solved with touchosc and an iPad, a bit more work.
I have a pic of the first E16 prototype from 9 nov 2024, don’t think they copied your product.
Tried it. Stage sweat and touchscreens don’t make for a dependable setup.
I have pics of Timepod’s first prototype from 2021. We were already running ads for our Kickstarter campaign in 2023.
Enjoy your E16 guys, it’s no big deal. But they did copy our morphing snapshot system and I’m done debating it.
And there are pictures of the Octatrack from 2017. So I guess what goes around, comes around?
Octarack is not a MIDI controller and its implementation of morphing is entirely different from ours.
I never claimed to invent the concept of morphing and snapshots. Timepod is the first to integrate a fully built-in morphing snapshot system in a knob controller. And OXI copied our exact implementation and form factor.
Again, it’s really not a big deal. I’d just appreciate credit where credit is due. The morphing snapshot system is not Timepod’s only differentiating feature, so please let’s all just leave this controversy behind.
Edit: Removed parts that seemed a bit unfriendly. I apologize–I’ve been dealing with a lot of trolls ever since this controversy began and regretfully lost my patience. Despite everything, I still respect OXI as a company and I’m flattered that they were inspired by my creation. Cheers everyone ![]()
I don’t see you being harassed, just contradicted; the claim of harassment indicates to me that you may indeed be quite bothered… and I feel you. Bigger makers grab from smaller designers / devs really often, and that really sucks. I didn’t realize this may have happened to you when I became an OXI customer, and it’s a bummer. Cheers to your business still making it through and thriving regardless!
You may continue talking about the Timepod there:
From what I can see, it is obvious that some IP has been copied.
And it’s a very shameful thing from a bigger actor to do this.
But I don’t see the point of discussing it further, especially on a one-to-one argument.
This conversation is about Oxi E16.
Please let’s not derail it further.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anybody have experience with both the E16 and the Elektra One Mini, what’s your take on it? 4 encoders and better visual feedback vs 16 and smaller screen on the E16, does it make a big difference in actual use? Other considerations?
Is anyone else experiencing a blank screen when opening “MIDI MONITOR” under System in the Oxi E16 Settings?
It will only display midi data coming into the E16.
I thought there was an On/Off switch like the one shown here.
But on page 58 of the manual, it’s definitely written exactly as you said.
Thank you. I’ve only had it for a few days, so there are some things I don’t understand even after reading the manual.
No worries. There is a lot to it and will take a while to figure out. It is a powerful controller though. Check for updates often as they do crank them out.
Could it be that Group settings aren’t saved? I hope I’m just missing the solution…
It seems that Group settings get reset whether I save the entire Scene as a preset or use the Store function.
In Bitwig, I’ve mapped 8 Remotes to knobs 1–8 on the E16, and I’m experimenting with sound design in a “chance operation” style using the knobs assigned to the Random button. (It’s a lot of fun.)
Here, I’ve assigned a Group setting to the Random button to activate only the necessary knobs 1–8.
This is because if Random is enabled on unnecessary knobs, my brain gets confused by the meaningless movement of those other LED indicators.
However, once I turn off the power or return to the Home screen, the Group settings are reset, and the Random button becomes active for all other knobs again, so I end up having to reconfigure the Group settings every time.
Incidentally, this isn’t limited to the Random button; it seems that Group settings for other parameters, such as the Filter’s cutoff and resonance, are reset in the same way.
Having weird behaviour mapping Ableton’s Mixer Volume Sliders to the knobs. All works ok as expected, however when I exit my scene on the E16 and return back the faders all drop to zero. I also have default value as 127 in the app but still no luck. Anybody have similar? I even downloaded Ooras template and it does the same so not sure if me or a bug (Live and E16 up to date)
EDIT - Default value is not saved via the app, looks like Oxi aware of it. Saving the knob values own the E16 itself works ok. Typically I picked up this bug the first time I’ve really tried to set the E16 up lol. A wasted hour!!
Anyone using this with dirtywave M8?
Or other maybe similar uses?
In concept I love knob type midi controllers but they still ultimately find their way back out of the studio. This one looks waaaaaayyyyyy waaayyy better. Im pretty sure im buying one:)
