Overbridge issue (DT2 and MacOS Sequoia)

Hi everyone,

I’m running into issues with my Digitakt II (firmware 1.15A) and Overbridge (2.21.3) on a Mac Studio (M1, macOS 15.6.1).

  • Overbridge just shows status measuring
  • Tried reinstalling Overbridge, factory reset on DT2, switching USB ports, and rebooting both the Mac and the DT2
  • Enabled Elektron under Settings → Login Items & Extensions and allowed the Overbridge Engine under Driver Extensions

I’m using the original Elektron USB cable. The DT2 is in Overbridge mode, but I get this in the Console log when connecting:

error 13:31:24.439893+0200 kernel AppleUSBIORequest: AppleUSBIORequest::complete: device 9 (Elektron Digitakt II@02114000) endpoint 0x81: status 0xe00002ed (transaction error): 0 bytes transferred

I also opened a support ticket with Elektron 7 days ago, but haven’t received a response yet.

Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have ideas on what to try next?

Forget to mention, If I set the DT2 to USB Audio/MIDI , it works perfectly as an audio/MIDI device — so the cable and USB connection are fine. It’s just Overbridge that doesn’t work.

I had same problem and only way I could fix it was having my audio cables plugged into my soundcard and Overbridge stays connected
I’ve tried installing and reinstalled all drivers but this is the only fix I can make it work.
.try it and let me know

Unfortunately, you’ll probably need to wait for Elektron. There is something about Overbridge and Mac which often seems to highlight compatibility issues between the many Mac OS’s and the Overbridge engine.

You’ve already tried the basic stuff and the symptoms are fairly common i.e. USB midi / audio reveals the device which works and connects fine as a class compliant interface. There are some other users who have reported that they were instructed to do something on their Mac like what the equivalent of clearing the registries is on a Windows PC would be.

I’m not very familiar with the different Mac OS and I don’t know which one preceded which so I can’t tell you if older or newer has anything to do with it, but it’s a common theme and regretably, they do seem to be a bit slow on the reply at the moment.

Hope you’re able to get some assistance with this, and maybe you can try whatever steveparker is suggesting as it sounded like that worked for him, although I can’t imagine why it would work, but stranger things have happened.

Good luck

Thank you for the feedback.

I already tried with reinstalling the drivers (overbridge, Audio card, … ), but no succes.
Also connected audio cables to soundcard, but it is still the same.
I will wait for Elektron support. If there is a solution, I will post it.

This may not be relevant to your situation but if you want to check it out, I recalled one user having detailed how elektron support instructed him to resolve a potentially similar issue.

Can you supply all details ?

You’d have to ask soho six, it was his issue, I was just trying to help. I don’t know enough about Mac OS to be of any use here really.

My point was mainly that the process for the one resolution which I’ve seen detailed related to a similar issue seemed to be rather involved so it is more than likely that Elektron support will be required to overcome this issue.

I had issues with Overbridge after upgrading to my new Mac Studio, the problem was due to something in privacy / security blocking communication… 2secs let me dig out the link, hopefully might help.

Ah here it is:

Thank you. It looks complicated, but maybe the solution. It’s better that I wait for support for these steps.

Thank you for the tip. But it was not the solution
