I’ve been screwing around trying to actually figure out what’s going on…
in doing so, so far, ive found that…
Pattern: will start at the start of the patterns on your boxes. so if you start on the second bar in the transport, the boxes start looping from the first bar.
SPP: will take transport position into consideration. so if you start on the second bar…all boxes will
no solution on desync after first loop…yet. or a way to auto select mode
A LITTLE WHILE LATER
so I check yer machine…my frame rate was set to 30FPS in the FILE > PROJECT SETTINGS > SYNCHRONIZATION > GENERAL > FRAME RATE settings. I might have done that cuz of animation or perhaps that was default…but remembering that film stuff is 29.97drop frame…and this stuff gets used a fair bit for syncing audio to film…I just tried it. and it doesn’t matter what mode im in, the metronome syncs to the boxes I have synced to Logic.
check your to see what its at. if its not at 29.97d, then give that a whirl. so far my stuff is syncing no matter which mode im in.
remembering that pattern starts at the start, and spp follows transport position.
MORE
its still off a bit. if you dont loop in SPP its fine. but it still shifts off a little. not as tight as Pattern.
im actually having success starting to record while in Pattern mode. not sure why.
I wish I could ask the right question, or there was more info on the modes than they provide
PATTERN [HYDRASYNTH = Octatrack]
SPP First Loop
SPP Second Loop
apologies for overload of shit
