There is zero-crossing snapping using FUNC with START and END (and I believe LOOP). Maybe Ezbot is referring to using FUNC+POS which moves the whole segment.
Syntakt is perfect the way it is! (Donât look for all my posts in the Syntakt Feature Requests thread )
But seriously, GREAT JOB Elektron! Slicing is such a big part of so many workflows, and the implementation looks really good to me so far (not a DT 2 owner yet). I just know this is breathing new life back into the device for so many.
Thanks again @Elektron !!!
Itâs just ribbing on people who spend way too much energy on public demands only to move to the next set after getting gifted releases like these
Anyway, time to install on my end!
In case anyone gets the kind of issues described below where the dialog canât be closed (using the NO or YES button), they have since been resolved. We will improve this experience in a future firmware, but in the meantime - in case you canât get out of the dialog, do one of the following (and then close the dialog) :
- Wait a couple of minutes until the samples have loaded in the background (more time for larger projects)
or
- Do an EMPTY RESET by using the STARTUP menu (holding FUNC during startup)
They actually did it. This is why Elektron always reels me back in - absolutely incredible support for these little boxes!!
My understanding is that the slice data will be stored in both the project file, and also within the preset files if that gets saved to one.
Iâm going to spend some time to see if I can figure out the preset format for recreating it, if I can, I can expand on the XY preset generation workflow, no promises though!
Currently away visiting family in the UK, so I donât have my DTII to hand at the moment to start taking a look.
The big feature everyoneâs been waiting for.
Very last thing I wish is increased MIDI polyphony from 4 to at least 8+ and then it will be the ultimate all around sampler / grovebox / sequencer. Almost there Elektron
Yeah just installed it and had a play, if you zoom right in (finally having zoom is so good) and hold FUNC you can see it clearly snapping to crossings. Yay!
I donât know what EZBOT was referring too saying itâs not there. @mpiecora ?
Can confirm that one shot machine hasnât been touched so no zero crossings or zoom available there (for loop points)
Correct. Thatâs in the video as well
Thanks Elektron, great upgrade.
will the zoom and transient detection be coming to the one shot machine?
if not I can imagine this being my default machine.
I mentioned before but ping pong looping would make sustained sounds so much easier to make / itâs so useful for drums.
that to me is the last very low hanging fruit feature Iâd like to see.
thanks again Elektron!
The Digitakt 2 has transient detection now ya barney sods!!!
of course no rush! in case youâre in London, let me know if you want to grab a pint
exactly. pingpong loop and my life will be complete
How would you know if someone is using it though?
The thing with fixing problems is that generally people stop talking about those problems
Regardless I think their implementation is simple and effective - not much to hate about them providing useful stuff
The mk1 song mode âgotchaâ that is brought up constantly here actually proves the banger-less feature requestersâ point, because Elektronâs Ui engineer himself said that he wasnât happy with where they ended up with the feature - it was decent but shoehorned after the fact and cumbersome. There is a lesson there about asking companies to add features that werenât integral to the initial device design, but itâs oversimplified to say âoh people will complain no matter whatâ when the designers themselves had issues with it
Damn! Been learning the MPC (and not enjoying the process lol) and now wonder if I should just sell it and finally get the DT2 instead, since I love my OG DT
Yesssssssssss finally!
âŚmaybe now a proper granular machine?
