The extra colour worked so well on the opz, it’s an ergonomic thing as much as aesthetic.

MIdi Sync - I’m having trouble getting OP-XY to sync with other gear via the multi out. Clock over USB-C works fine. 1. COM set multi out to midi out; clock set to out, notes and “other” also set to out. 2. Dongle is type A (Elektron). 3. Used dongle with mode:cycles, & dongle works. 4. Sawpped midi cable, & cable works. 5. Connect OP-XY via multi out to any other box and no clock is sent and no devices appear in OP-XY device list. 6. Boxes (octatrack, model: cycles, whatever) are all set to receive midi over 5 pin, and do receive clock & transport when plugged into each other, just not from the OP-XY.

Can’t make it work here… what am I doing wrong ?!

Are you trying to load it on along with another 4GB of samples?

What’s not working, specifically? Which patch?

Nah… I leave the sample thing for later… firmware update hopefully… :crossed_fingers:t4:

So, it’s just a fresh start and your preset doesn’t make any sound.

No problem with Colors of Space’s preset though.

?!

There are two presets in that zip file. One is blank, an init patch for the multisampler. The other is the piano. Does the piano one make sound?

Unfortunately not.
I will try a fresh reset and reinstall them, when I’ll get home… I’ll let you know.

Double check the port you are using on the xy, maybe its plugged into the another? I don’t think devices would appear in the device list if you are using the 3.5mm midi out port.

Is anyone else finding the pads and strings low volume?

If so how are u fixing it?

Thxs

on a preset, tap m2 to bring the curve screen then hold down shift, turn the white knob to adjust the volume

Thanks :+1:

Depending on the preset, it might also be low volume due to the velocity sensitivity setting. Shift+synth button on the left is where you can lower the velocity sensitivity.

reebot op-xy with midi multi out still connected, its known bug

All my presets I recorded them in directly. This must have something to do with it.

Hello OP-XY users,

Can this thing get nasty? The demos I’ve seen so far are explore mostly melodic, FF7-ish vibes, IDM, or hip hop. Can it get OP-seXY? Nasty, industrial, gritty, dirty?

Let’s hear it! :metal::robot::metal:

Just asking some of the current XY users here, has anyone tried connecting it to a MIDI controller? I know the OP-1 had really limited MIDI control, but it seems the XP is more comprehensive.

Looking at this list of CCs here OP-XY - Midi CC implementation - Google Drive it should be possible to set up 8 faders to control each track volume, right?

You can put the synths through bit reducer and it sounds like Skrillex. But it’s not my cup of coffee.

I know others have mentioned this too, but man oh man I wish the way scenes worked was different. They’re awesome, but I always want to iterate on the last one I’m working on. I hate having to always move to the next scene and solve a small matching puzzle to get back to where I just was before iterating. I’m sure this can lead to some “happy accidents”, but I’d much rather that part of the process not be a happy accident generator.

It would be cool if all the “empty” scenes reflected the last edited scene rather than…I think it’s the first edited scene?

Oh, really. I thought this worked somewhat like the EP-133 when you committed it you have the new one with everything from the previous scene.

See TE manual:
use commit to create an arrangement of patterns then ‘commit’ this arrangement as a scene. start a new one with the previous scene as a basis for the new one.

So the XY doesn’t work like this, hmm. This feels backwards somehow, right?
