Like many I just keep checking manually could use the page change notifier but where the fun in that!
Where’s the fun in that?
The showcase starts 16.00 European time? Is there a stream on youtube planned? Anyone?
I guess if it follows the latest one the link would be https://teenage.engineering/_software/op-xy/opxy_firmware_1_2_0.tfw
But does not work atm
If they abandon it because “they’re tired of taking our money” I really hope they add some damn color to it. I did try to set Claude to the task a few months ago but it wasn’t able to decompile anything. It was an encrypted .bin file.
I should try again with the latest tools as I see people are having tremendous success.
Although… I don’t wanna end up with a very expensive door stopper.
They could just add a ducker to a extra auxiliary track
For some reason I thought it would be 16:00 European time. I wonder if we’ll have to wait for tomorrow for the firmware download?
Unfortunately they are streaming from their new NYC showroom…nothing to stop them putting the firmware on line before the demo, its just a demo/walkthrough of the new firmware so maybe a good idea if we have it in hand first!
I don’t understand why you’re so keen to police what other people do with their time.
I don’t have an OP-XY/Z, but the new firmware appears to already be available with a little light URL manipulation:

The link is live!

@FailedSitcom you beat me to it!
Installed, and the new drum synth is called Drumline.
Is there a changelog included?
I guess my work day ends now.
No, just the firmware file right now.
The USB routing page is very nice. A matrix that lets you choose what to send where.
Any other main synth engines?
Haven’t tried the update yet myself, but I will answer no. If so, I would have heard it from my source yesterday.
In the Drumline drum synth, you can pick the engine per-key. Shift+1st encoder chooses between kick, snare, hat, shaker, clap, congas, FM (looks like a hang drum), to, tambourine, and resonator.
Scramble works too.
New Dynamic filter type with compression and distortion. Not just for Drumline. Available on other synths too.
No
Bummer, but you can get a lot of non-drum sounds out of a drum synth, pretty huge addition.
