Here’s the one I’ve got: https://sl.aliexpress.ru/p?key=KuEdG6B
The Decksaver for the OG-1 / Field moves ever so slightly back and forth too. It’s still the best protection for these device IMHO.
With the new firmware does anyone have a bug where when they turn back on the XY the previous project is now called unnamed. The previously saved project is there in the user projects list too.
Strange.
Right I’ve finally upgraded my iPhone so I can connect via usb c. I’m trying to use GarageBand/Cubasis as a portable multitrack recorder. I’d like to be able to hear what is playing on the phone via usb c so I can layer tracks on top of it. So using the aux track to take audio from usb c in. Only problem is this audio then goes back to the phone even if I’m just wanting to add another single instrument layer.
Is there any way to monitor audio from usb without it going back out of main mix bus? Otherwise multitracking like this won’t be possible with just one usb c cable
Another solution might be if there was a way to select which tracks can be routed out via usb c rather than just the mix bus. But I guess this is the much desired multi track update we’re hoping for
Edit: ok only solution seems to be monitoring from the iPhone with usb c dongles etc. maybe we’ll get different usb c audio routing options in future ![]()
Too soon?
I know it’s crazy complicated software running this and I’m being a little sheet to complain but i will never sell this device ![]()
Your thought on recording the session to catch the bugs in an edited clip show is a good idea if you have the time for it - I’ve noticed that, consistently having it powered on and being used for several hours will result in unexpected things and random eventual crashes that are somewhat un-reproducible.
As a software dev (albeit no expert in embedded device programming, but do have a good grasp of C), this leads me to believe there is a memory leaking issue, or code somewhere that is writing outside of its allocated memory space causing gradual degradation to the point where it becomes unstable and eventually crashes, i.e undefined behavior/segfault.
Hopefully, TE can do some endurance testing hooked up to a debugging tool to see where the issues are coming from.
In the meantime, as annoying as this sounds, powering off then on every 30ish mins seems to be a good work around.
I love your patience and perspective.
You’re so good at walking us emotional types off the edge at times.

I’d say that’s @shigginpit’s wheelhouse usually ![]()
Given the frequency of updates, I’m fairly confident TE will get there, perhaps they released too soon (maybe due to the retailer leaks?), but on the flip-side, it seems like they gave the devices mostly to music creators and not people with any background in software/hardware testing -an approach which I guess worked well for their simpler/focused devices but not so much for all that the XY can do.
Yeah. They’ll get it there. They always do. But we want it now ![]()
Time is the great equalizer they always say.
Hi, just a quick question.
The power switch on my xy seems to be velocity sensitive.
When I don’t flick it up like I mean it, the machine doesn’t turn on, even though the switch is in the ‘on’ position. But if I flick it back down and then up again with more force, it turns on fine.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Do you think I should return it as a faulty hardware?
Thanks!
Sounds faulty.
Not part of the beta group for TE but I have been for other devices. It’s not like beta group people are paid employees… they generally get “recruited” into a closed beta group due to reporting bugs and being clear and easy to communicate with and somewhat trustworthy for nda type stuffs. But yeah being unpaid just means youre not going to find people treating it like a job, they will just use the as normal device and report issues in a smaller closed group. I dunno it often feels pretty thankless to be in those groups as the novelty does wear off, the idea of a company holding there free labor more accountable is well silly.
I had a slight issue with my switch becoming quite hard to flip, it seemed to have come out ever so slightly which caused the switch mechanism to go stiff. I found if I pushed it back in, (as in apply pressure on the switch down its axis) it sat back in its seat better and went back to normal. Haven’t had a problem since but being more conscious not to pull the switch out. It was a very tiny loosening, a fraction of a mm
In the last Liam Killen video, he mentions a parameter lock limit. Is it something annoying or not in normal use?
Thanks for sharing!
Mine doesn’t seem to have popped out but it does wobble slightly up and down - half a mm or so. This might cause contact issue when flipped too gently.
Just checked my OP-1 Field’s switch which is very solid without any wobbles. Hmm
I can’t get over the freaking swing on this thing!
This is the first devices that actually swings to real shuffle. You can’t really hear the shuffle here due to my P-FX sequencing but still, this pattern is very much straight on beat when it’s not in full swing.
Yeah mine had a slight wobble when it was out, pushing it back in felt sturdy again
Ok
Prepared to be deleted from this thread just a cheeky cross post for visibility
Will get an OP-XY when finance permits
In the meantime quite keen to get one or two tracks from my OP-Z through an effects pedal - but line module is out of stock everywhere.
If any of you early OP-XY adopters have an old OP-Z line module (ZM-4) you could sell me, please name your price!! Literally my last avenue of attack …

Thanks & best wishes

The swing and microtiming resolution on the XY is fantastic.
Everything about the XY looks great and inviting to me until i see a video on YT about DN2 or even DT2… seeing how polished, capable and fun those boxes are! Unreal! Imo the best buy boxes on the market!
I still want the XY but ill still wait to see how it turns out in a couple of months regarding bug fixes and potentially some new synths and fxs!
