my opxy arrives this saturday. have you had a chance to pair opxy with the p6, move, or op1f yet? i think i recall seeing you with those devices as well? nice sounds!
Congrats.
You will enjoy it.
I’ve only connected it to my iPhone to record some samples, and to record this video.
I ordered from TE a few hours after it went on sale, and got my shipping notice this morning. They had told me they were slammed with all the orders they got initially and were hoping to be caught up shipping them in the next 5 days or so.
I have no idea what’s going on with the OP-XY user guide online.
It’s not searchable, like it was exported wrong
It’s incomplete (e.g. Section 22 is coming soon)
It’s riddled with errors, like all over the place. (e.g. using the instrument icon when it should be using auxiliary, etc)
Why was this such an afterthought considering the price of the product?
Word on the streets is that it’s gonna be searchable by the end of this week.
yo Michaal, you deserve a medal for answering all our questions this past week. seriously dude. thanks

I had this feeling before receiving the op-xy and I still have it after receiving it. It seems like the release deadline was set, and was met, but with some compromises. the manual is definitely one of those. some other little bugs are also present like the text in the sample finder page, certain folders read out fully, which then overlaps with the sample name text.
Side note: it seems like they’ve used their old ‘error’ text font on stuff like OP-1/OP-1F and it’s kinda weird for me to see it in use so much here because my brain wants to think that something is wrong. the OP-1F UI fonts are more polished, feels like a final product. This feels, maybe deliberately, a bit more of a back-end ‘coder’ type feel working with the XY.
I am looking forward to an updated manual as it’s missing some things, but also i’m utilizing it heavily right now to learn my way around, and it would be nice to know it’s relatively up to date and complete (for example, i’m confused about the Autosave vs “no auto save, so save often” AND I’m also positive it’s got undo/redo, which i’ve tested and used but it’s not documented at all)
It IS kind of a trip to see pages shown as examples that don’t many any sense and/or are from OP-1f, etc. Maybe you could argue that those don’t really matter in relation to the info they are conveying, but it’s certainly helpful when things make more sense and are relatable to what you’re seeing on screen when learning.
For those wondering how to actually send to guitar pedal and back, here is a step by step guide. The manual is a little rough…
Step 1 - Go to “com” and make sure your 2nd output is set to “Audio”. You can only set the output when your cable is NOT plugged in. Then plug in your cable after you set the output.
Step 2 - Make sure the 2nd output is going to the input of your pedal. Then take the output of your pedal and go to the input jack of the OP-XY
Step 3 - Click the Auxilary 1-8 button (1-8 button that looks like an audio jack)
Step 4 - Click Track 5 - which also looks like an audio jack
Step 5 - Under the OP-XY screen there are buttons labeled 1-4, click button “1”
Step 6 - Use the first rotary knob to select your input method, which in this case is the audio jack icon and then click the knob in to actually select it. The input icon should get brighter when active.
Step 7 - Use the 3rd rotary knob to select your input level and the 4th rotary knob to select your mix level
Step 8 - Now select button “2” from the 1-4 buttons under the OP-XY screen
Step 9 - Turn up each track with the rotary knobs that you want sent to the guitar pedal
Step 10 - You should now hear the pedal return on the tracks you just chose to send to the pedal
Whoa. I had no idea we could even do this. Cheers.
Just got this and connected the TX-6 to XY with USB C cable. When in the sample menu the XY can “listen” in on the separate channels from the TX-6. The second encoder flips through each channel. So if I had six different instruments plugged into the TX-6 I could sample each one separately. It looks like there is some support for the TX-6 built in for USB multi channel capabilities going into the XY. But only one stereo channel to TX-6 from XY so far.
Clock works both ways.
That’s wild! I feel like TE didn’t really do a good job explaining how in depth this thing really is, which is makes it more fun for us to discover though. This thing has a lot more under the hood than people think
Since the user guide’s Section 22 is “coming soon”, I was hoping someone could help me out. In particular, “22.12 write a song fast, with the brain”. Could someone walk me through how to do this?
On wow. Thats promising for the future maybe
Yeah I was thinking this earlier on.
Initially it looked pretty cool but with no official How to videos from TE etc it looked “so so” but due to the users etc new things feel like they have been popping up every day with cool things I had no idea about
stop it guys, I’m crying over here ![]()
jk, enjoy your new toy…hope to join you one day!
This is exactly how I expected the op1f to work with the tx6, so maybe that is coming? I’m excited for the future of the ecosystem. Also, Sat hurry up already
Can others that have received their units comment on the response of the pitchbend button?
Mine seems a little more responsive on the right side. Additionally, if I crank up the bend amount on a synth patch, it’s really smooth on the right side, but on the left side it seems to suddenly jump to -3 and then go through the rest of the range.
Got one and it arrived today- very excited to try it. Op-z is one of my favorite instruments ever and despite the insane price, I had to at least try this.
Mine feels pretty much the same in either direction.
