OP-1 field

somebody downloaded this one?

would be nice to upload that here or via dm

I wouldn’t recommend that. It might cause issues with your device or even brick it… better to hold on for a bit longer

not to derail figuring out the firmware but I have wanted to mention that lately i’ve been leaning into the synth engines and trying to not rely on the sampler so much.
I love the sampler and obviously it’s an amazing tool, but I have been feeling like samples start to have a certain sound characteristic because of the pitch shifting. Sometimes maybe that sound is desirable or usable, but other times it’s just not working for me.

So, I return frequently to my suggestion of:
I would love an EP Modelling engine, even basic it would perfectly fit the OP-1F vibe of a simple visual of a tine and hammer, etc. some simple controls that cover a wide range of Electric Piano sounds would be amazing. Perfect to pair with the Spring effect, etc.
It would just be cool to have something that more naturally translates across the keyboard as opposed to pitch shifting a sample.

And they already built a version for the OP-Z

I know right! seems too easy haha, and I rather enjoyed the op-z EP!
The OP-1F version could be more full featured (with more editable parameters)

I just didn’t enjoy using my OP-Z as a sound module, it would be much better to have it on-board with the field, i’ve since sold my OP-Z. Maybe hoping for a refreshed OP-Z, or not, I like having just one device sometimes

The 1.5.5 update looks quite interesting. Fingers crossed that i will be able to record guitar to OP1field via my HX stomp over USB!

So we’re gonna be able to connect an Audio Interface to the Field now? Whut Whut Whut…too cool.

Hope they get the build back up soon

You already can? You’ve always been able to do that with the Field, one of it’s best features. Although I’ve heard it doesn’t work with some class compliant devices that it should work with (sample rate?) it’s always worked with my Zoom H1n, Blue Yeti, Presonus AudioBox iTwo, and my iPhone 13 mini. Although that’s all for input to the field. I’d love audio output to an audio interface.

It only runs 44.1khz. Elektron devices (and the line6 hx stomp) are only 48khz.
I fear the 1.5.5 update won’t address this, but i have my fingers crossed that compatibility is increased

Being able to multitrack into the 4 tracks would be great

As a side note: Since the latest update the TX-6 USB audio works with my Digitakt. Didnā€˜t before.
No multi track though, I think. Could only make master in/out work.

So Iā€˜m hopeful it will work with the OP-1 update as well.

If it works with the syntakt this will reduce some cable clutter for me automatically and remove the need for a third midi device on my desk. That will be a big win!

Two quick questions, which I think the answer is no to both, but want to check, as maybe I’m missing something.

  1. Is it possible to route incoming audio, via 3.5mm, to main output fx, etc, while at the same time play record the synth to tape?
  2. Is it possible to send MIDI clock out via USB in someway, in particular, I want to clock the Pulsar 32, which only has 5-pin MIDI?
  1. is possible, but will record the external audio to the tape as well.

  2. is possible if you use anything in between for converting USB midi to DIN. EP-133 does that in my setup like a king.

Oh wow. I never knew this. Thanks.

What I would like is just to forward the input to master, without recording, but I guess this is not possible.

That is not possible. I really hope this new version has some i/o management, but i won’t hold my breath
