OP-1 field

Yeah, should have been a redo or bounce button instead… imo

That never works too well. They have tried that w/ iOS apps in the past, to replicate velocity on a non-velocity sensitive screen. Spotty at best.

I’ll eventually get OP1F then will keep the OG reinstall the old beta firmware (with the 8 arpeggiator trigs) for wacky experimental stuff.

We’ll see

I can’t find any of the beta firmware links, I’m down to follow this same gameplan, where can I get it?

edit: got it nevermind! OP-1 repacker project

The used prices for the OG are currently very low (good for buyers - bad for sellers). In Germany they start at 650€.

Personally I badge these prices as being back to normal! Very low for me is when they start getting below £500 again like in the old days!

watch out for scammers on ebay-kleinanzeigen.de…there´s a lot of bad folks around there.

I agree. I use ebay kleinanzeigen only for selling and buying stuff with local pickup, never for anything that involves shipping. For local pickup stuff it is very convenient though. I sold off lots of stuff during the last years and actually got my og op-1 through ebay kleinanzeigen for a really good price in 2018.

Look out for scammers, I’ve been on hunt for a second op-1 on Reverb and got almost cheated by ‘let’s make a payment outsider reverb’ guy… a lot of them are first time sellers…

Last week there was 100+ offers, now there’s 30+ so it seems Reverb started cleaning up fake sellers, but still…

~700-800eur for v1 and 850-950eur for v2 are the usual prices nowadays- depending on condition ofc

Where are you based?

In the EU

I find it extremely difficult to get scammed when using PayPal to make purchases. Transactions can always be disputed and you’ll be refunded if the seller can’t prove they sent the item. Avoiding Reverb fees is not necessarily a scam.

No worries.

Had a V2 up for sale on here (in the UK) but closed the ad.

OP-2 should have stereo speakers imo

I’d prefer a version with multiple stereo input channels, like a built in TX-6, then OP could become a proper mobile tape-based recording studio

What if private person send you a brick/faulty item, can you dispute that outside Reverb/eBay?

Yes, you’d just need to include video proof and make sure the transaction is covered under PayPal purchase protection.

@MichaalHell hey, I remembered a while ago you mentioned how you loved recording singing at a lower tape speed then returning to original speed for a vibrato/chipmunk voice effect on the OG OP-1. Are the results any different on the field, with it’s different tape styles?

I actually never quite liked this technique on the OG because it was the one area of the tape concept which didnt really emulate the results I expected; which was a more subtle pitch/formant changer (ala something like Prince’s Camille female alter ago) rather than the more digital based result which produced the heavily vibratoed sound.

It would be really cool if the different tape styles had different effects for this technique, some more authentic and some more digital based.

would it be possible if could test to see if they are different (if any of them offer something closer to what I hoped for) or if they are mostly the same?
