This is splendid! Well done. Any post production or all within the machine?

Beautiful. My favourite piece so far from what I’ve heard of OP-1 Field creations.

I wonder how many people who have the OG will keep it in addition to the opf.

I have an og and can’t see myself selling it, even if I one day get the field. I just think they’re really neat!

The delay processes both channels identically. Would be nice to see some shift or encoder push parameters to enable stereo delay taps etc.

Some processing, I added a 6dB of 80 Hz when recording because you lose a bit of low end with disk mini (you could do that with the master EQ on the Field but I boosted via my mixer). 2 bell cuts in Ableton, 3dB @ 500hz and 3 dB @ 700hz to tame some resonances. I recorded the plinky plonk lead that comes in at 2 minutes separately with some extra reverb and delay just to disguise my sloppy timing but it doesn’t dramatically change the sound. Again, I could have added Mother reverb on the master when I recorded the lead but I just thought of that so  . If you plan a bit better I don’t think you will have to do much work outside of the Field at all to fix things. It’s more cherries on top processing with Field.

copied from reddit:
louder, bigger and 100 times better.
introducing the all new OP–2 field. injected with more than a decade of
ideas, refinements and improvements. just to mention a few: stereo
throughout the whole signal chain, bluetooth midi, usb type-c, a new
37 ultra-slim keys with velocity sensitivity and polyphonic aftertouch,
a massive 48 hour battery life, multiple tapes and 8 tracks,
a new 16-step hardware sequencer and the ‘undo’ button, an all
glass, flush, high resolution display. we also meticulously reworked all
graphics, screen by screen. did we mention fm broadcasting?

You know what? Quite honestly, if that was real, I’d still want the OP-1 Field instead. I have bucketloads of larger synths and keyboards. But OP-1 can hang over my shoulder under my jacket, and when no one is around I can sneak it out and make some music.

No M5?

I guess this is one of the tape types they’d have with 8 tracks:

it’s available for an upcharge

Surely it’s 101 times better as it is also bigger?

Yeah. I would not want that either.

Imo would be nice to have a choice between regular and XL size - like iPhone and iPhone Max. TE has built amazing software with unique workflow that could be scaled up to a full size hardware

And two sequencer buttons, for some strange reason.

Maybe one would be the traditional OP-1 creative sequencers and one would be for a more traditional proper sequencer

Seems a contradictory design choice. Superfluous.

User saved sequences preset button

It’s all BS anyway :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I guess it’s related to the lights on buttons 1-16 that look pretty close to our favorite Elektron sequencer ^^
The button should have been labelled :3lektron: though.

There is an interesting bit around 11:20 in this video where Tobias said they’re experimenting velocity using the accelerometer. If that comes in a new firmware that would be damn cool !
