OP-1 field

Any word on supply? Some retailers saying preorders will ship August.

There’s a thread over on the OP Forums with people sharing their order numbers/time and shipping info. Seems like very few have shipped so far. Potentially only people who ordered during the first few hours after the announcement. I ordered fairly early on release day and still have not heard anything.

Same.

i took the velcro off the bottom of mine. it was surprisingly easy to do! just peeled it off once getting my fingernail under one edge. there are little circular indentations in the back of the unit where the velcro goes.

Have you noticed the tape reels spinning slower since you took the velcro off

Can you put it back there it’s done once peeled off ?

I’ve stitched velcro to my right forearm so as I can always have the Field ready for a quick sketch in any situation.

Just not sure if I should have gone for my left forearm instead as I’m right handed.

was there much glue-residue when you did this?

To y’all, wait, do not buy your OP1 field now. If you’re lucky, you can have it next year for twice as much! Wouldn’t that be great?

I think Michael from playpm nailed it

He is one of the reason I cancelled my order. I think what he says is very true. I might buy the OP-1 f later in one year depending on the reviews in the meantime. No need to be an early adopter

His argument also means all elektron gear past n present is unnecessary and overpriced

In fact his laptop solution beats all gear ever. Oh no! We’ve all been tricked!

I like this guy’s content in one way, it’s a good wake up call for some people. But there is nothing which actually recreates the OP-1 so I don’t consider it valid. Also that’s also been posted to this thread several times, but fair enough not reading all the posts I guess.

a laptop is still bigger than op-1

Yep but a iPhone is smaller and with Koala sampler, Drambo, and AUM it is so much powerful… it made me rethink about it

No, he’s simply says that a lot of hobbits are overspending on new gear and underutilize what they already have. Always chasing for a shiny new thing that surely will make us more creative… It’s easy to miss the forest for the trees, esp on a gearhead forum. That’s all.

Smaller but with a much bigger screen  Drambo and AUM both work surprisingly well on my iPhone MAX and are without a doubt the most powerful and smallest portable studio!

Indeed. Paired with an OPZ as Bluetooth midi controller it is for me the best smallest setup
