Omnisphere 3!

Wow - this has been an incredibly long time coming!

I love Omnisphere, but somehow right now this doesn’t seem so exciting. I must be getting jaded. Still, I’ll probably get it just for the MPE with my Osmose (and it has S88 MK3 control)

I know I just saw damn… I don’t recall spectrasonics doing any spectacular black friday celebrations?

Send them an email, I’m sure they’ll do something for you

Falcon, Halion and, in some degree, Komplete are here already.
Not sure I’d choose Omnisphere over any of them.

Never owed any of them. Always been an Omni user

falcon editing is exceptional but never liked the sound of halion and komplete is different… all of the are different

Spectrasonics products will never be on sale.

Oh, fair enough

Not really, same as 1-2 and that didn’t stop anyone. Will I update? Maybe eventually, but arturia is my go to now.

i don’t think omnisphere and keyscape, can be beat for organic tones imo, for synthesis that’s a different story

I was literally going to call them today to request that mutations feature for omnisphere 2

It’s a must cop for me at some point. Omni 2 is my desert island soft synth

Love Omnisphere!

Personally I’m not that big on MPE, so it’s only a decent package from my POV. I wish they would have done more core synthesis features. For example is the FM the same? How about granular? Those could use some updates IMO.

Mutate looks awesome! I use “the sphere” and have it mapped to encoders, along with dice for randomization. Mutate makes that far simpler to access.

Updated FX also look promising. They already had great effects and fx routing, but this is a welcome area to update.

Worth putting the upgrade price in context. If they run this version for the 10 years that Omnsiphere 2 was out for, that’s they’re asking £15 a year, approx £150. I appreciate these guys like Spectrasonics, uhe, Fabfilter and others who don’t update too often.

Omni is genuinley a desert island plugin imo, so 3 is likely to be stellar. And if you’re on Omni 2, that’s also still excellent. I think I’m still working my way through the hardware library and there’s still bits of it I haven’t explored.

With any monster plug like this, my immediate thought is how well optimised it is. Given the recent uptick in computer specs, and the launch of Serum 2, I’d be interested to see how it works on modern machines.

The list of keyboards it supports is basically everything so that hopefully means it’s nice and playable.

FX rack alone is worth the upgrade price. Lots of really great QOL improvements but the obvious let down I suppose is there’s no major changes to the interface. I don’t love navigating Omni (its tolerable but just that, whereas interfaces such as u-he’s are a pleasure to work with), I’m guessing Zebra 3 will have a much more immediate interface from the previews and if Z2 is anything to judge by, but oh well. I’m stoked and can’t wait to play this thing on the Osmose!

18 brand new libraries means, in a sense, whatever people crave from the old Roland PCM classics that Eric created, this is the modern era times 2
