Me too. Purchased the V1 in 2017, but it never worked correctly on any of the many windows computers I had in the meantime. Crashes, super super slow workflow, and failing features. This has never been useable. Even with the kind help and good will of Rusty.

And all I wanted was some better sample management.

Just tried to give a new shot with latest V1s on MKII today. Windows stable version is still 1.0 and doesnt work with the latest OT OS. Still crashing for this or that. And windows beta just doesnt work at all (I have an UI but not at screen scale and canā€™t click anywhere)

Well 5 years later I canā€™t say Iā€™ve been a satisfied customer so far :joy:. Maybe it would have been better not to support windows at all, I donā€™t know ā€¦
Anyway, I still have a little hope that a working windows V2, some day, will make this time and money not lost forever.

Sorry for being dense. Is the os demo of V2 available or is it just with beta folks just now? It looks like an amazing tool.

The Demo is essentially the same as the Beta (minus a couple of obvious things)

There are no special beta folks, all existing users can grab the Beta / Demo if they want.

I guess I could organise that. As it is a demo of a beta, and this has the same bugs etc, you can understand why itā€™s not publicly/generally available.

I would love to help you get OctaEdit running on Linux using WINE (Windows emulator)!

Iā€™m a software developer myself so I know how to assemble useful bug reports. I wonā€™t spam you and Iā€™ll do my own research before contacting you about anything. I can write documentation and will contribute my notes and setup procedures. I understand that this is not your day job, that youā€™re only developing for OS X and Windows, and that itā€™s not your fault if I canā€™t get it to work on Linux. Iā€™m willing to pay for a license regardless of whether or not Iā€™m successful.

Hope it doesnā€™t hit you too hard, be sure to take the time to recover, I know so many people that have thrown themselves straight back at it after a few days and itā€™s rarely worked out well.
