Im curious to if the sp404 compliments the octatrack at all?

Need some advice with audio path

I do live shows mostly and work in my home studio. I rarely use Daw… maybe just to record… or slice sounds… most of final recordings are recorded on a taskam field recorder… or a marantz reel to reel machine. I’m not new to electron… but I’m new to the octatrack… The gear I use are the following… electric guitars… esq 1 synth… yamaha dx7… microbrute… model samples… digitone… sp404… mpc500… zoom multistomp pedal… pod 500 and of course the octatrack… I dont necsecaeryly use all this gear at once…

Is it worth pairing an Octatrack with an SP303 (purely for its fx)

Hey elektronauts, I’ve been considering getting an sp303 or maybe even a 404 to use with the ot’s cue outs as an effect unit. I already currently have a strymon big sky and deco, and I was originally on the market for a decent delay and an autowah pedal. The question is, is it worth spending the extra for one of these units or should I just get separate delay and autowah pedals? How do their other fx stand up to the octatracks internal ones? I hear they’re got allot of character?

May be old news, but having some fun with the SP over MIDI for beats. Feels like I can free up some tracks on the OT and get some use out of this neglected machine. Bank A - Kicks, B - Snares, C-HiHats, D-Perc etc. Notes : B2 - A#3 Pads A1-12, B3 gives you Pad B1 etc. MIDI tracks with different lengths, time signatures == fun.
