This looks nice. Most importantly, can’t stop singing this everytime I see the name so happy to ruin this for you too.

Seems like a pretty good deal! Wonder how it sounds compared to the OB-6 and OB-X8.
but i want it noooooooooooow
End of july… good for me, maybe have forgotten about it by then… noooot
I’m moving house end of July… to one with a bigger studio room! If I have any money left this might be a post-move treat for myself. Always wanted an affordable Oberhiem and this looks like the perfect modern update but still with that gorgeous filter.
The (through-zero) FM keeps things in tune.
There’s a bunch of youtubes that give a pretty good idea, I think (Inhalt, Anderton’s, etc.)
To my ear it sounds really good—maybe a little cleaner/less “thick” than an OB-6, but for an Oberheim-style synth that can be an advantage. Also reminds me vaguely of the Matrix-6, except in some ways the Teo is better, and certainly easier to program.
Almost, not really at the end. But perhaps it is preliminary OS.
Thank you! Just finished loopop his video - Seems very nice! To our ears it sounds clean as well and indeed not really “thick”, but certainly usable! Love that you have the modern flexibility on this one and the workflow seems to be speedy and convenient as well!
Yes—it’s almost as if someone heard the complaints about certain limitations of the OB-6 (one LFO, no screen to name patches, limited modulation routing) and addressed all that, similar to what the Take 5 did following the Prophet 6. Plus you can modulate effects on the Teo, and their British rep said the oscs are now on chips, which hopefully avoids the whole temperature table rewrite dance you sometimes have to do with the discrete oscs on a new OB-6 to stabilize its tuning.
I wish they had been a little less vintage-OB with the Teo, re omitting any OSC1/OSC2 level knobs from the front panel; the OB-X8 does that too but it’s not very helpful to have to menu-dive for OSC levels.
I’m not in the market for this, but if I had no OBs I wonder what I would do. Hard to really know without hearing it in person. This might be as much Oberheim as most people would ever need.
Very important question: sounds like folks are saying the name as TEE-OH as opposed to TEE-EE-OH or TAY-OH? I support this decision.
Also, this machine sounds balling. It has jumped to the top of my list
Yep, sounds pretty great, and addresses what I felt were limitations with the OB6.
I am almost certainly picking one up - the big question is if the Take-5 can keep its place when I do.
Hoping for a desktop version.
This is more about how similar their capabilities are than literal physical space - I may not really have a use for the Take-5 if the TEO does everything I think it does.
