Exchange your OT with a Volca Sample?
Never !
This is real noobie, but i don’t know !
I can FN+Copy to copy a midi track to another track. But when i paste to another track, the new track channel changes to the source track’s one.
How can i only copy and paste only the entire pattern (not only a page) trigs / notes, not the Midi track configs ?
Not possible, I copy midi tracks oftenly, changing midi channel don’t bother me, I usually change other parameters after.
No separation.
So a workaround would be copy / paste each page individually.
Copy/ paste all parameters pages (except SRC/NOTE page) and sequencer trigs pages?
Or you can plock all required parameters.
Don’t you think it’s simplier to copy tracks and change midi channel after?
What are the odds of a future Octa’s update increase the Midi polyphony to at least 6 notes ? That 4-voice limitation is really something that bugs me… Why i can’t make a 7th chord with 9th without use 2 Midi tracks ?
Buy a 2nd OT!
Connect them for baby OTs with new functions?
When Digitrack hits the market, we know what Elektron has been doing…drinking coffee all day long while two OTs where making babys in a sexcret room^^
Today a simple one : is it possible to use a LFO to mimic sidechain compression of bass x kick ? How good (or bad) will it sound compared to the real thing ?
Yes. It has been discussed recently.

About the Octa’s compressor
Does anyone know how good it is when compared to a hardware compressor like the RNC1773 ?
And for god sake, why are the settings not labeled in a common compressor parameter, like Ratio 1:2 ? For instance, wtf is a ratio of 30 ? How to a convert it to a x:y basis ?
Just make tests, and a sheet for all Elektronauts with your results ! ![]()
I don’t know any topic about that here , maybe an old one ?
Ok, now a really noob one : how to see a knob value without turning the knob (and actually changing its value) ? Any shortcut ?
You can activate other modes with Fn+ Down arrow, or Arranger to see values.
I think the compressor is actually really good.
Imho, it handles kick drums equally as good as whole mixes on the master.
You have to use it by ear, though. Don’t think in terms of ratio 1:2, think I’ll want a little compression and dial it in.
Might feel odd at first, but I like it that way. Dialing in compression by discrete values is actually odd when you think about it.
The manual gives you the ranges, in which the compressor operates.
ATK sets the attack time from 0.5 ms to 100 ms.
REL sets the release time from 50 ms to 5 s.
THRS controls the compressor knee threshold.
RAT sets the compression ratio between 1:1 and 1:255.
GAIN can be used to adjust the output level of the compressor.
MIX adjusts the output between the uncompressed dry signal and the compressed wet signal.
RMS adjusts the way the compressor works. A zero setting makes the compressor look for amplitude peaks and a max setting makes it react to the over-all energy level of the signal.
Here’s something I’ve been trying to figure out:
I wish there were a gate FX, but obviously there isn’t and Elektron aren’t going to put one in there to please me. So do you know of any workarounds to achieve the same effect?
In some circumstances, playing with attack/decay/release settings can achieve what I want, but something closer to a real gate would be useful.
