Playdate looks fun tho
And thatâs literally the same as releasing a digital hardware synth.
âItâs just a VST in a boxâ
AI IS A SCAM??? NO WAY?!?!!
/sarcasm off
edit: fun part from the linked article:
âNow that the news is out, Rabbit has revoked the keys. This has broken every R1 remaining in service. Weâre sure both customers are most annoyedâ
I should sell mine. Itâs annoying.
Why? Bc no backlight?
Yeah, the display is a big downside as well as the games. It feels great, but itâs just silly stuff.
I love my playdate and the games
I was thinking of getting a playdate but i donât know if that screen would be a problem, bc no backlight, which is good in a way that I wouldnât play it in my bed but how visible it actually is? Is it a problem in a moderately artificially lit room?
P.s. im ok with the silly games
Iâd say as long it is bright enough to easily read a book itâs bright enough for the Playdate. Viewing angles play a role though.
You have to embrace its limitations for sure.
I originally bought it to dev for it and decided to stick to programming for norns.
Anyone with a web browser can run chatgpt, thereâs literally no value add.
You can do things with a digital synth, we enjoy the OP1 and this is e-waste.
The overlap between people hating Teenage Engineering for being too expensive and people hating Teenage Engineering because R1 is useless crap is, in hindsight, predictable. The answer in both cases is simply to ignore and/or not buy it, but for some reason that doesnât seem to be an option? Like, the fact that it merely exists is too much to bear?
That certainly explains why an arty design company like TE, whose sole purpose is literally to make concepts exist, is such a frequent target.
Why is the assumption that itâs a full venn intersection?
I know people have more money than sense, but their other products arenât so aggressively contemptuous and less punching bags for the zeitgeist of enshittification.
I love interesting concepts but generative AI and kissing cousins like NFTs arenât something people see as art.
âlet people like thingsâ works better for popular things that have some personal value like idk, Taylor Swift than when executives actively think their customers are stupid.
Rabbit = Juicero, not the OP1.
I love teenage engineering but hate the rabbit scam, no overlap here. You can like a company and disagree with certain decisions they make.
Does anyone even really know how involved TE are in R1? I assume itâs just the design of the physical unit and nothing to do with the features, software or way it utilises AI.
Never miss an opportunity to crap on someoneâs face⌠who cares if they deserve it right??
Isnât that from GG Allinâs headstone?
That black OP1 (or whatever it is) reminded me of a qwerty keyboard⌠then I saw the qwerty keyboard.
Whatâs the photo from?
