New Teenage Engineering products

Wouldn’t that be referring to the KO II?

Jesper is too busy building the next Rabbit product to be able to release a new TE product this year

lol, the rabbit thing is just a scam

That’s cool- then TE can use that rabbit money to make their looper project for Reggie watts…

It may be, but having just accepted the position of Chief Product Officer at Rabbit [1], he’s doubling down and that has to take time away from TE product design.

[1] Jesper and Jesse Will Work Together Again at rabbit!

Did he? Damn, that’s interesting. Wonder if he knows what he’s getting into

Coffezilla did a two part video about it, worth the watch:

Does op-z not send velocity information over midi? Or is my mc101 not receiving velocity?

(I am sequencing the mc101 from the op-z and adjusting op-z step velocity with the pitch bend button)

The velocity of the step component seems to be output correctly. The pitch bend button on my OPZ is broken, so I can’t test it.

Yes I also believe the step component for velocity/mute does work, but the pitchbend doesn’t…

I’m usually a fan of TE but eat shit AI-

Eat all of the shit. This is nearly cybertruck grade incompetence (if not for that this won’t maim and kill people.)

But I mean if you are getting ran over at enough speed that you are worried about being cut… wouldn’t you have bigger problems?

This mess has nothing to do with te

The hatred the R1 is getting is almost as hilarious as the belief folk put into it

Disclaimer: I bought one! I knew it’d never deliver what was promised but it seemed like a fun and relatively cheap device. It arrived yesterday. I don’t really give a shit that it’s an app running on Android or whatever. And if folk want to data mine my multiple morose and pointless questions about weather, football teams or my conversation around the benefits of VAR (seriously!) then more fool them.

I don’t know what to say, enjoy your doorstop that used to Google the top 5 black hat ai generated travel links until they disabled the functionality people bought it for?

The frustration is with enshittification of everything, the non-product is a side effect.

People are more concerned with having all the connected bank accounts lifted over the conversations with a nonsense generator.

If that’s all you want, ChatGPT doesn’t require a dedicated device.

I still like those parts of TE that make real products, but this is just some coke-fueled grift with the TE polish.

All they’d have to do at rabbit is to introduce more quirky ai tools, making it into a little ai machine. Scrap spotify/uber/lam bs, put more stuff like the magic camera - maybe something music related (PO playfulness could match very well with rabbit). That could unironically save that disasterfire that the r1 has become.

VAR has only proven how incompetent many of the refs are. Utter hilarity (as long as it wasn’t my team) week in and week out as the association tried to explain their idiotic decisions. Decisions that decided, erroneously, a few games.

I agree with you. I’m of the camp that when ever I use a device connected to the internet, I assume my data is being mined. Shit, every time I look at my Google account, I get several messages informing me to change my credentials because another website I use for work, medical, or finances got hacked. I just assume everyone knows how much I like bananas and horseradish.

WITH or AND?

You are granting direct access your bank accounts and credit cards and those keys were compromised, then all the keys were disabled well after being notified of the exploits because they fucked up its basic design hard.

The levels of who gives a fuck are just amazing from everyone involved

:smirk:

Absolutely. I can’t dwell on it because it’ll make me go cray cray. Just about every major corporate institution seems to use “not giving a fuck” as their companies mantra.

I don’t get why the comment “it’s just an Android app” is considered negative. Because they could have released it for all androids? That would defeat the point of the whole concept though, which revolves around the design and how you use it. We’re in a society that everything gets reduced to its output.
