No they don´t and it´s not exciting its exhausting. Build a cool device that makes sense and not wait years to bring something here and there and then sell it like its the next big thing. To be honest they don´t do it, the community is doing it. But this machine costs 1000 bucks, I like sampling, I most likely love the update, but not beeing able to work with samples in the first place…massive miss…in my point of view.

I guess that they develop and release the physical product first with the hardware required for all the features they intend it to have eventually - and then the firmware is fully-developed later
The Syntakt was a really good machine though right from the start. I’ve played around with my friends one and loved it. Would buy, but have young children and no time, but when I have more time, it will be my first purchase.

My face is getting warm…
the hardware is essentially always the same and especially syntakt. Digitakt form, rytm analog parts and yeah digital board.
Did a diff between (mod edit : the now removed ‘hacked’ link to) 1.40 and 1.30 manual to spoil myself (I need to focus on work this afternoon!).
All I can say is that I love my ST even more already 
From everything they implemented, all I know is that Elektron folks really listen to their userbase, and if something you wanted isn’t there it’s probably that it could not be fit due to hardware or usability limitations. Oh boy.
