Hah … watched this for news and one of the first things I see is a snapshot of one of my posts above
That video is pure BS, steals cuckoo’s video featuring the syntakt chip engine, then some guy talking hypothetically about what you could potentially have on a DT2.
Less of a prediction, more of a hope
They need to change it so their are no longer the velocity and retrig modifiers, and just add Trig Modes and the Velocity and and Retrig trig modes
Then they can do whatever to Mod A B C and D and hopefully make them a little more useful.
Yes the labels will be weird but I think the trig mode functionality is superior and worth the confusion
Might be more of a ST 2 thing though
The Syntakt firmware update page has been down for a couple of hours now, so I guess it is happening very very soon
Its wednesday today
Might ought to wait until it’s regular working hours in Sweden
Maybe we will finally have polyphony using multiple tracks in one to choose the number of voice… (And then we will have the same on digitakt!)
And so are the Digitone and Digitakt 2 pages!
(And the ones for every elektron box it seems)
Maybe we mean different pages but they’re all loading for me. Showing old versions of FW though
So if I search for the pages via Google those ones don’t seem to load, but you’re right, if you do it through their website they do all load
Of course if everybody is checking it!
It’s a fine line for sure and I agree that regular updates are also part of building up Elektron’s reputation which in turn leads to more sales. And as you point out, ST has even been marketed with the promise of more machines to come, so we should probably judge this one a bit differently than all the other machines that never promised such a thing.
But then again, they already gave us new analog and digital machines for ST in the first year, which you could argue is promise fulfilled and they could remove that blurb from their promo. Or they could just abandon their current hardware after a few years and reserve these new machines for a newer device. Didn’t work that well for Polyend in terms of reputation and I have a guess you sell more things over time the Elekron way. But it’s still not at all the obvious capitalistic business choice is what I‘m trying to say. Rytm MK II has been out for six years when they released OS 1.70, and more capitalistic companies probably would have just made up that for some things that are different between MK II and I, they couldn’t port the new stuff to MK I . Or just not give a reason at all. Speculating some MK I owners might be pissed but most would probably accept that ten years after Rytm released, it’s ok to buy a MK II if you want substantial new stuff.
I just think it’s nice to appreciate when they give us new things instead of complaining what else they should have developed instead. It probably made more sense to start with new analog machines this time, so they could also make Rytm attractive again and sell more of these. That’s fine for me and I‘m glad they’re bringing these to ST and also Rytm MK I. I do hope for new digital machines in the future, for the same reasons as you.
Whole elektron.se site changes it’s design tonight
TonVerk confirmed!
Has it? Have not been there in a very long time.
tomorrow it was white. then page with syntakt firmware went 404, then i got to the main page and design had changed to dark with new font sizes, new button design etc
Yes, I noticed it about 12 hours ago, I think the redesign was yesterday. When I asked in another thread, @avantronica confirmed the mods were told that the site was undergoing changes so there may be some technical issues with it. Redesign looks good BTW, but it makes the Support page slightly less accessible on mobile. Desktop looks a lot better.
Confirmed:
Homie believed it’s out and shot off the hip for some views, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the last time he gets access to beta lol but who knows, maybe it’s another PlAnNEd LeAk lol
