New Syntakt Machine Predictions

no way! well thats cool. But the fact they didn’t backport it to the digitakt 1 doesn’t give me a lot of hope it’ll come to syntakt. Maybe it’s hardware limitation somehow. I’m probably rehashing something that’s already been discussed to death… apologies for that. Carry on!

Interesting, but would that mean no new machines for the 8 digital tracks ?

If that’s all that’s included. We can’t be sure yet.

EDIT: disregard the part I said about HH Lab, I’m seeing things that aren’t there :upside_down_face:

He says in the post it’s the ‘last one’ when asked about the OS version, which makes me think it’s not the upcoming.

I assume the HH Lab will only work on Track 12… Which is one of my grrrrr things with the Syntakt, I’d love to use more of the analog hats models, but I always end up needing the ride.

I am happy and thankful for the new machines, but it does pain me that we’ll be getting more analogue machines for an already crowded list and only 4 tracks :grimacing:

I do understand the frustration. Sound locks are a good way around it, but not always enough. I’m still over the moon about new features / machines though

Hah. Yes, I asked that one

Am I right in my understanding that all of the new machines are of analog type?

No it’s old os nothing new

No new os on this video :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::metal:

Can someone please explain Euclidean sequencing as you would a child? Every time I look it up my mind just glazes over.

That’s all we’re aware of right now, along with the Euclidean sequencing. Someone claims to have used the new os at a trade event and says that’s all they noticed

It’s just a simple way of distributing X number of events as evenly as possible over y number of beats with a variable offset. Elektron’s implementation has two such generators per track and they can be offset from eachother.

Euclidean uses maths to distribute a number of triggers over a number of steps as evenly spaced out as possible. Interesting rhythms start to happen with crooked numbers. Very tribal-y.

oh man… super exciting… Maybe I won’t sell mine after all. Hmmm…
SY chip would rule on this machine.

People are saying the update is going to include page looping, randomized patch names and slew S&H
(Source: me. I’m saying it because I like guessing things out loud :slightly_smiling_face:)

So is it meant more for generative sequences compared to the standard Elektron sequencer?

It’s generative in the sense that the events are generated and distributed by altering parameters rather than manually creating them. Often “generative” implies that those structures can evolve over time and unless Elektron change things so that you can modulate those parameters it’s really just an alternative method of creating fixed rhythms.

i think the incredible dt II comb filter would be one of the best sound design options for the st. that thing is amazing and resonators are extremely powerful on a groovebox

they’re obviously adding the sy chip and euclidean modes, now that cucokoo has shown that machine in an ig post, then teased a new st update

i am very excited for that, i think it will add a lot to the st. the more machines, the better. id also like more digital ones, like a virus ti style grain synth voice or something more formant-y than what we have with the clap machine

microkorg 2/sp-404/opsix style fx and synthesis options would be a good direction. its a lot to ask though

i hope this coming update happens soon. shouldnt be long now, right? its not really a secret anymore

I do love a comb filter. I think it is a lot to ask for one update, but eventually? I do think some more of these features will come. For now, I’ll take what I can get. It’s just a question of when the update is coming (Wednesday, obviously )
