Ha, I have thought about doing that, how did you do yours? It looks neat!

totally old-school - the shafts with Tipp-Ex ! yeah and the knobs with Letraset ! u may need some googlinā if u r post-punk
iāll be watchinā this space - fantastic finish btw
ps: for me the fun is mostly in the doinā, but iām hankering for some simple battery powered gain using some ultra-clean vca chips, like an LM4562, so i can give my Mono-tron/tribes a boost into the OT/AF - does that sound simples, have u done some even ?
I was known for hanging out in stationary shops in the 80ās , letraset FTW! Did not even know you could still get it though.
Not done any mods to improve noisefloor, thought about it though, replacing the LM324 with possibly a higher perfomance alternative might be a good idea. Then again if Iām honest Iām not terribly bothered by the noise, I like using tape too so kind of goes with the sound
Not done any internal gain stuff either, but messed with some external ideas.
BTW the Volcas are a bit noisy too, I like them enough to keep them, but really gotta say they are not in the same league as the Monotribe sound-wise, not got around to doing mods on them yet but got some cool stuff floating round the big grey squishy walnut.
Yeah gotta say - and this makes me sound like a right fanboy - I flippin love the thing, so much fun, the poly-rhythmic jammin and hands on stuff it can do are just a joy to PLAY with.
The mods really add quite a bit of variation to the already quite versatile box, and the accent/filter CV mod (once I finalise it) give it a lovely twang. Still refining the VCO mod, just tweaking a few component values, but think Iām there now.
And from your POV - Monotribe will take up very little real estate in the techno cupboard, AND it will play nice with the Microbrute. Not too mention, dealer portal, cough
Talking of the Microbrute, if it ran off batteries I would have buckled already, as it stands I am holding off, but to paraphrase Miles Dyson in Terminator 2 āI donāt know how much longer I can hold thisā
I was eyeing it already, then read a few comments from you and a few other guys, and almost pulled the trigger, the battery thing is quite important though, so I might get one and try to hack something into it. Certainly donāt need it, but damn the GAS is high, and the price is so low
Mrs got me the LittleBits synth for Xmas, I predict some magnetic add-ons to my Monotribe in 2014, oh dear it never endsā¦
^ I am not certain as I do not know how big that kit is inside and the location of it, electronically it will be fine, if you can post a pic of it installed I will be able to tell if it will fit.
I just have it installed with wires running the sockets out through the battery box - no drilling as I donāt have the tools - I was planning to use your UK fitting service for the drums and ask if youād tidy up the miditribe kit with proper drilled sockets for a bit extra on top?
Will post a pic in the morning.
I think I have already posted details of most of them over at muffwiggler as well as some others, the VCO mod is a bit too complicated to explain as I do not have a schematic for it, but it is based around a phase locked loop and additional VCO which follows (or not) the internal VCO.
Just a heads-up bump to say that I only have 2 drum mods and 4 VCO mods left, I know a few of you guys were interested in these so if you are still interested get in touch, I wonāt be making any more for a while when these have gone, as no more boards left.
Some new mods coming too, Iāll post in here when they are ready.
