I have a suspicion that it was mostly a social media marketing move to stand out on Youtubd/IG et al

Good theory, it does make them very easy to spot and recognise in a sea of black flashy boxes.

Tired of waiting for MPC Live 3 so ordered a One+ (Live 3 will now drop imminently - you’re welcome!)

Got a new one for Ā£540 which is insanely good value if you think about it so I’m not even bothered if Live 3 drops now.

You can get a Live 2 for £700 which is also incredible value.

I sometimes (most of the time) wish I could just climb inside my Live mk2 and live there forever.

Do anybody know if it is possible to sample directly to a pad from the sampler screen, but with arm enabled?

When I press a pad, it starts recording directly without the arm function.

If I press arm, it waits for the audio, but the sample ends up in the sample pool.

Probably missing something obvious. Been looking through the MPC Bible but cant find any information about this.

Not sure I have the answer but to clarify, do you want to record to a pad but only after a threshold is reached?

So:

  • Select pad
  • Play source
  • Once source reaches threshold record to that pad not the pool
  • Hit stop

Yes that is correct. I want to sample directly to a pad after the threshold is reached.

Is it that simple? What ā€œpad sampling modeā€ is that?
Cause when I press a pad, it starts recording immediately, and doesnt wait for the threshold.

I’m not sure it’s possible so you might have to go through the standard arm, record, assign to pad step. I think the sample to pad is a shortcut meant for live recording. Another option is just doing it and then trimming the empty audio out. But maybe someone else will have some idea.

ok thanks.
Yes I have been sampling and then trimming afterwards, and that is ok.
Just would have loved a faster way of catching one shots, like on the SP404 for example.

Kind of shocked at the price of the MPC plugins. I think.

Definitely want Ether and Flexbeat… Ā£99 each!

The plugins are regularly on sale, wishlist them on something like Pluginboutique

Pretty sure I got them for $30 during a sale at some point.
