I would also prefer a ratcheting / tiltable screen myself as I think despite being a bit more fragile, it’s 10x more flexible in use. Still though, that fixed tilt screen looks hot.
My bad too, I didn’t know you already posted it. I try to follow this thread but it moves hella fast so I don’t always catch everything.
You can kinda get the same thing with the drum FX, but its cool to have more FX in one slot. So I’ll add it. Thanks!
That tilting screen would sell like crack in the 80s. No need to apologize. Somethings need to reposted as it helps for people that missed it the first time around.
Another question:On MPC 3 all my Kit Maker created .xpm programs don’t seem to load the samples to pads even though they are able to be loaded and sound out individually. Did MPC 3 break something with programs?
Just found a solution for droning / latch… You can latch the arp, but not a single note or a chord… Boss FS-5L latch pedal will do the trick. A normal sustain pedal unlatches when you take your foot of the pedal. This one latches when you press and unlatches when you press again. So you can drone away. On the key 61 you 2 sustain pedal inputs, but a normal sustain pedal overrules the FS-5L latch. And you cannot assign a pedal to a track. So all tracks will drone.
If you want to drone on one track, while playing on another (with sustain pedal if you want), use the FS5L on an external midi keyboard assigned to one (or more) tracks and use the sustain pedal on the active track on the mpc.
If you want to drone on multiple layered channels (1-4 e.g.), output the midi of track 1 to 2, 2 to 3, … and play on the other tracks.
On elektron, you can just trigger an infinite note on the first pass (conditional trigger), with MPC it’s a bit more cumbersome to set up if you are looping, as a drone will retrig on every loop…
Common knowledge for advanved users, but took me some time to figure out a solution, hope it is of use for someone!
Hi guys,
Anyone ran into this issue where the mpc takes forever to shut down? I counted up to a minute. Weirdly, it started after I changed to load empty project mode in the preferences.
I reverted to load factory project but same thing happens.
Thanks for your help
PS: it started on the before last beta and also on the latest beta 3.4.1
If I remember correctly you could record XY automation in OS2 if the effect was on a track. Enable automation, hit play and fiddle around on the XY pad.
Should future plugins and expansions go onto the SSD or is that not possible? Also what about preinstalled ones - can they be moved from internal to external.
This happens to me occasionally on 2.15, as well as sometimes it just freezes at the boot screen. No idea what causes the issue. I probably need to factory reset, just haven’t taken the time to do so.
The storage location for plugins can be set in the Activations screen of Preferences. For Expansions, MPC will automatically detect them if a folder named “Expansions” is created in the root of a drive.
There are no actual hard and fast rules on folder structure, so set it up how you feel is best, but I created folders for Projects, Programs, Samples on the root of the SSD and then assigned them to the browser shortcuts (when browser is open to a location you’d like to assign to a shortcut, hold shift and tap one of the five folders to assign the shortcut). I assigned one of the shortcuts to the root of the SSD, too.
