MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

Whatever happened to the moist forums? They had some of the highest level of discourse.

Maybe it dried up.

At least we made the moist of it while they were up.

See this is why I hang out here, even when things go sideways we can still laugh about it

Glad I could help

Hey MPC3 testers! Is track export currently available from the arranger? Thinking of post-composition Ableton-final-mixing workarounds while we wait for the MPC3 VST… quick Google search just led me to a lot of v2 export vids/posts.

Thanks!

so…for a neat freak, this is literally eating away at my soul. AKAI…DO SOMETHING FFS!

hard for me to look at

the shiny bits are sticky AF, and got that way from trying to wipe the dust off. that’s why the rest is dusty. I don’t wanna fuck it up.

The surface? Like my MPC
I don’t know what Akai was thinking when they made the decision for this material
I used water, that didn’t work

This is why I much prefer the finish of the one and the keys 37, at least it won’t look horrendous like that. Same thing happened to my expensive Cintiq drawing tablet, used that awful coating as well. What I did was just use isophorl alcohol and just scubbed the hell out of the coating so it got removed and was left with the plastic underneath. You can go down that way or get a skin

Remove the casing and scrub it off.I used white spirits and that green scrubber for the kitchen on my Push 2.Within 1 energetic hour it was gone and all black and shiny……or change the colour entirely-lightly sand and paint or spray with your favourite Color’s

You are pointing to dedicated subforums for the elektron units so of course you will be able to find specific threads that specifically give tips etc. The mpc discussion is only given one thread in ā€œother gearā€ so all posts are piled into one. Guarantee that if the elektron units were just given one thread it would be the same.

Did you also whine about ā€œinfluencer youtube videosā€ in the thread about Ricky Tinez in the digitakt sub?

Not sure if it would help but I have JBL monitors that were ultra gooey.
I used ā€œgoo goneā€, two rolls of paper towel and a lot of time/patience but they are near brand new looking now.

I bought the retro mpc to avoid this (also loved the look).
I’ve yet to see a used black one that doesn’t look like a sneeze guard at a buffet.

OG Live was the only one that existed when I bought it. AKAI dropped the ball with the velvet trash.

Uh so I need some freakin help. The only piece of gear I have right now is taking a shit. All my plugs disappeared on my live.

They were there an hour ago.

Any help, ideas. I’m looking up fixes…but they say to check activate in the manager. But there’s NOTHING in my plugs folder

Pleas help, I have nothing else to occupy my time at night.

Looks like my SSD isn’t loading.
What else do I need to fucking happen

Lost everything.

Do SSDs just randomly take a shit?

Yeah ssd can definitely shit themselves instantaneously. I had one die on me a month or so back. Try re seating the cable connection it first though, could be a simple fix…

Tried reseating already. Tried removing it, starting MPC, shut down, reconnect ssd, restart MPC.

No luck. Had some sick homemade kits I’m gonna miss. Hoping it’s just a dead drive, and not something more serious internally.

Man that’s sucks, I feel your pain seriously, I’m super cautious nowadays with ssd back ups, I grabbed a cheapo 3tb nas spec hdd to back up to, so if the worst happens I can recover stuff.: hope you get it sorted :+1:

Yeah I’ve had a dead SSD too, it’s a drag. Maybe it’s paranoid, but it seems to me the MPC kills them more frequently than a computer tends to?

I’m not sure- Had a LIve and then a Live 2, never had an SSD go (but I have in a PC!)
I would say the MPC housing is at least as robust as a laptop an doesn’t get particularly hot, so I can’t see a reason why…the quality/make of the SSD will give some variability…better QC on the higher more expensive ones ā€˜claimed’.

Only thing I can think that might cause it is that the Mpc doesn’t have the usual drive maintenance tools like trimming etc that keeps ssd drives on optimum heath like pcs do, obvs you get what you pay for too, the last one I had go belly up was a cheapo 1tb literally shat itself in the space of 24 hours, no warning signs either 🤦
