MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 2)

Stem stuff seems pretty neat

that was uncomfortable to watch

I’m all for STEM sep, and I’m glad the people who wanted it for years got what they want for a fee. But hey Andy
how about fixing the bugs too? “fixing bugs doesn’t bring in new revenue for InMusic”? Ah OK

indeed

I’m grateful for the feature too, but I would like to know when we will get usb compliant audio sampling and pass-thru like on the digitakt?.. The MPC has the best i/o in the game still not capable of this , it’s long overdue.

I just stumbled across an MPC Keys 61 for a suspiciously low price at a dealer’s, say 1400Euro.

What’s going on here? Just random luck or is Akai dropping the prices on the 61 now? I’m almost tempted.

It’s been low for a while. Got mine 6 or so months ago 1499$ US.

It’s bery, BERY noice.

Really loving the 37 so far. Super fast to get something going and haven’t had any issues with the latest OS.

So, in this video is the PC hidden to make it seem like this is the the “out of box” workflow? Or are they actually previewing the hardware plug in? The other demo vids I watched all made it pretty clear that you could control the DAW workflow from the hardware, but that it was still software based stem separation until further notice.

(I’m still not amused by this “wait until March” business. Hopefully there are no additional delays, because that just means the hardware version release of stems will be pushed out even further and that’s all I really care about).

Not sure tbh. There seems to be a usb cable connected so could be both

I made the move yesterday and bought an MPC Live mkI for the second time, since I sold mine in 2020. (Got it secondhand from an English carpenter in an Oslo parking lot, so that’s a good start.)
Feeling excited and think I might get more use and spontaneous fun out of it this time around. Something was shifting inside the chassis so I opened it and noticed it had come with a 1TB SSD, which is handy.
Drum Synth already feels fun, and I’m looking forward to go lavish with all the stereo samples in the world that my beloved but austere DT denies me

Let’s go, pad gang!

I got this heavy 420D nylon dust cover on amazon the other day for $23, says it fits both live 1 and 2. The cost to value ratio is pretty good, but it looked like a crumpled up old shirt when it arrived and had a bunch of weird permafolds.

I ironed it out at a low heat with a towel over the top and then added the creases back where they were supposed to be. Not bad for the price, has velcro on the rear to accomodate the size difference between the units or if you don’t use it standalone (like you leave your cables plugged in as part of your set up.

I admire decksavers for their appearance and quality, but this is more of my speed and so if anyone was interested, I thought that I’d share what I ended up with as a budget option.

The top pictures are on a small stand with a shallow angle, maybe 15 degrees, below is flat without a stand. Still a little frumpy but I didn’t buy it to be fashionable. Who knows, maybe it will relax a bit more with time, I didn’t go too hard with the iron because I don’t know how easily nylon melts but for my purposes seemed to work ok.

That was the first time I ever cut up a track in my life so I don’t think I had/have the confidence to call it finished. Haha!
