Kind of a noob q, but isn’t DRUMSYNTH (VST) included with the Live 2? And I do not mean in standalone, I mean the VST to use in another DAW. Is it not? I downloaded the plugin I think from the downloads section from my account, but it asks for a serial and I now don’t seem to be able to find it. Am I trippin?

I think you only get the standalone with the Live 2…I agree, though, the whole licensing/download/install situation across platforms with these plugs is baffling. When you buy a license for any of the ones that AREN’T free on Live, you ARE getting both VST and standalone.

Thank you. It is a bit confusing! I guess I can still use the Drumsynth by opening an instance of the MPC plugin within another DAW. A bit of a workaround but better than nothing.

I don’t think people realise how good DrumSynth is, and it’s definitely worth having the plugin version of it if it’s something you use a lot in your DAW.

I’d shopped around for quite a while trying to find a software equivalent to my Analog Rytm mk2, something that would give me different ‘engines’ but be relatively straight forward… I’ve been through nearly ALL the drum machine plugins, and I rank DrumSynth as one of, maybe ‘the’, best.

I use Ableton, and being able to build racks where I can use macros, automation, mods (lfo’s, Env followers, etc) on ANY parameters within DrumSynth is fantastic, and inspiring… there’s no way I’d use it like this from within the MPC plugin in Ableton.

I felt a bit peeved that I had to buy it as a separate plugin when I owned 3 MPC’s and a Force at the time, but it was money well spent in hindsight.

I’ve just bought an OG black MPC one again for the third time. I thought I could connect it directly to my iPad for Class compliant audio and midi (as you can on ST / DT) but I don’t seem to be able to. Is this not possible does anyone know ?
I can send audio to my Xone 96 ok, but that is using the flat usb port. I’ve tried connecting it directly to usb C and through a hub, with no joy

EDIT : looking back through this thread, it seems this will not work. Shame. I was so used to doing this with my DT

Nah, they are currently working on the MPCtakt, same as the MPC one, with just a small LED screen.
