I had a situation today where I was remote working on my laptop and wanted to use Air Flavor Pro to resample a part in Ableton… opened it up, got the ‘Activate’ notice from inMusic… clicked it and it came back with an error saying I’ve exceeded my 3 machines.
BUT, I’m not near any of the 3 machines to deactivate one so I can activate on my laptop.
It just frustrates the sh*t out of me and makes me want to abandon anything to do with inMusic tbh.
If you’re going to have that BS system, at least let me remotely deactivate another machine so I can crack on… don’t subject me to your BS….
Am I alone on this?? It’s 2023, I can’t stand this kind of thing. Don’t ruin my fkn flow!!!
Trying out my MPC in a live set for the first time tomorrow. I’m running all six of the MPC Live outs into a ssl six, . was thinking of bringing external effects but everything sounds “good enough” in the box.
The mixer is maybe overkill but I like running some tracks like kick and bass a little hard, and to just flip some faders up and down if I’m away from the track mute screen.
Every song in the set is a sequence with transition sequences in between, and then I’m playing around muting and unmuting stuff, riding sends and submix fx on the q-links. Pretty basic but it was cool to work through the process.
Finally got around to finishing another track. This one was created on the MPC Live a while back using samples. I recently got into Ableton and decided to learn it by using Ableton to finish old tracks. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll use the MPC, as I find the softsynths and power of my Mac more and more appealing but this was a fun exercise to learn more about how Ableton and the MPC can work together.
This was such a good combo when I had my Live. It sounded so good! I used a 8 cable snake. The last pair I put into the ins from SiX Bus B for quick sampling.
Maybe it’s the gain staging or something internally, but I just feel like I have so much more headroom and space to properly mix when I put all the MPC outs up on a mixer separately.
I got the same thing, a Hosa 8 channel snake and although I didn’t end up using the alt out live I always have it going straight to the MPC in’s. Sometimes I resample through the mixer that way rather than just bouncing tracks or sequences.

I hate their system. I just bought a used MPC X and a new MPC One+ to go with my Live II. So if I want to use purchased instruments on my MPC Studio on my MacBookPro or Mac Mini, … They need to upgrade their allowance to two computers and all hardware registered to the account.
Does anyone use controller mode with an m1 mac? I’d love to use it but it’s always been buggy for me. The screen on the mpc freezes quite often or screens don’t change correctly. Would like to know if there’s a fix.
