Was working with some high hat samples in Rytm and though I really don’t mind the current limitations, and having to use samples… I thought how wondrous it would be to get some interesting 606/Drumatix style hats out of Rytm.
AR has had a whole slew of bug fix releases, but until 1.22, almost no feature releases outside of OB. A4 / AK seems to be getting the love these days.
hi all, my 3ct on the Topic that we could use some more machines for the AR …

.
I also think so!

last comment: saying if you want more LFO connect a computer is like saying : if you want a longer bike ride, just take your bicicle the bus.
Yes, a 2nd LFO page would be wonderful. Before, I worried such a feature encroached too heavily on A4’s territory, but now that A4 has FM, i think a 2nd page of Rytm LFOs would be fair.
Of course, folks would demand FM LFOs in Rytm if that happens, though.
i dont have any clue about programming,
but i strongly hope there’s some kind of “processor headroom”
in a 1500 EUR machine for modulations,
those already existing plus a few to come.
to know i’m always close to digital brain dead
would not feel very “cool” in studio nor live.
I wrote a support ticket asking about the amp envelopes, more machines and more LFOs. Simon stated “more LFOs are not possible.” He didn’t say why exactly, but I expect he knows what he’s talking about.
I think my heart broke a little.
could have several reasons.
there would be either 9 or 13 additional LFOs, depending on how they work internally (one per voice or one per track). Could be that the DSP processing doesn’t have enough available resources.
Then there’s space. An LFO’s parameters need storage. Not sure how memory works internal to the machine, but in terms of the data available as sysex: 8 parameters per track = 16 bytes per sound. this adds up to several MB on the +drive, and just some kilobytes in the current project (RAM).
From what I’ve gathered, space on the machine is super duper crammed as it is, example:
the TRC parameter for pattern steps did not get an additional byte per step, but was jammed into the bytes which store the retrig locks. giving TRCs their own byte would have taken roughly 100KB per project, even this minor space saving wa apparently worth doing.
And they guy who posed it was kicked out of beta testing?! Anyway…this is what he wrote…
here is a list of the new modules that came out with beta3 of os 1.23: bd plastic, bd, bd silky, bd sharp, sd natural, ch metallic, oh metallic,hh basic, cy metallic, cy ride (808/909),cb metallic, noise gen, impulse gen.
Also you can disable the entire analog synthesis for a track
Had to check that this post wasn’t submitted first of April.
Sounds promising. I’m super happy Rytm user and I’m almost entirely using only synth part of it.
