More Machines? Seriously, we need them

what would an impulse generator do?

yea noise–gen sounds fool!! :-1:

Something rash.

… make you post indiscrete videos you weren’t supposed to because you’re a selfish &%£@ :zonked:

yea - not cool :-1:

… yeah, but at least they didn’t spill the beans on the 80’s gated Toms TTPC Machine I’ve heard they’ve finally mastered
.
might have been a genuine vid released in error of course !

also no mention of the vanilla ice generator - best new feature

Oh my heavens if true.

Too bad it’s surrounded by such acrimony. I feel bad for Elektrin that someone spoiled their fun. Is it ppssible the leaker was naive?

I was reading how justinvaler made his AR808 kit. He states the 808 uses the digital trigger signal as a transient. Maybe thee impulse genetator gives one control over different kinds of “pulses” llike that?

Agreed. Shame it couldn’t have stayed under wraps for 3 or 4 more days.
It looks like the machinedrum has an impulse gen machine.
Apparently good for pulses and clicks.

I am wicked excited!! I was hoping for 2 maybe 3 new machines but man, it looks like we are getting some serious goodies very soon.
Viva la machina neuvo!!

Lastly, can they really be that upset? It’s not like the guy released trade secrets and the Tempest is gonna steal these ideas before release. If anything, it has excited their current owners and possibly bring in a few more a few days earlier. No doubt people dislike their surprises ruined…but in no way can this do any serious harm if any to their business. In fact, I have been teetering on selling the RYTM for some time. This news has decided for me. I wonder if any others were spared the pain of selling right before something cool…

Just my thoughts

… and might disappoint these same owners severely if the beta-but-announced features never appeared in a production version of the OS.

aaahhhh…yes, my eyes have been opened. That will be very disappointing. dammit! What a roller coaster of a morning.

No argument there.
But at least we know they’re planned.

I’d wager the metallic cymbal machines are going to have a 606/Drumatix sound.

YUSS

They stored almost every kit byte (8bit) as a short (16bit), and the LSBs (lower 8 bits) are not actually used/recognized. So actually, there’s a lot of space left for future extensions.
Not that I would not mind seeing that extra bits of precision being put to good use – at least some parameters (flt and amp decay, or synth tune) are a bit coarse.

I also hope that they finally fixed the core functionality they broke in their last release (1.22b) over 3 months ago (trig/velocity/length/… overwriting the LFO settings, cough cough).

The prospect of having new machines, especially ones that are designed to layer with samples (e.g. the noise machine), is quite interesting.

that’s at least the 3rd time in recent memory where you try to “correct” me where you’ll eventually eat your words.

never give up, I guess.

You really are one of the worst forum moderators I’ve encountered. Do you even know what the term “to moderate” means? sigh

Your post is nothing but flame bait. Sorry, I won’t bite.

I am PSYCHED for these new machines (assuming they’re real). :+1:
