Moog Liberation what?! first time I’ve seen that mentioned here.
Looks like SynthAnatomy updated the article.
Looks like a 4k synth.
Well this looks fun.
Agreed! I’ve never owned any Moog kit sadly.
It does, and that’s the way I’m leaning. However, I know that if they “wanted to” they could bring that out for $3000 (or even very slightly less) and still make plenty of money. However, as mentioned by people above, they’re in business to make money, so it will probably be on the higher side. I’m sure it will be quite cool. It’s still relatively unique in the Moog line. Classically speaking, while they’ve had some poly synths, that’s not what their main focus has really ever been.
We should have a competition. Whoever is closest to the actual RRP wins a Moog Mirror fridge magnet
$4k if it has good effects and really nice build quality I could see. Not exactly an empty space in the market right now, but I can see it and positioned neatly between the sequential 6’s and the P10/OBX8 in terms of price.
I think it would be a shame if it wasn’t PolyAT, but I am not holding my breath there.
I’m curious what sorts of filter modes it will have. I suspect some will want switchable bass/resonance compensation. I think it would probably sell as a basic poly with the Moog name, but I think it ought to have a bit more modulation than we’re gotten used to in VCO polysynths to really make a splash.
If they can bring this out at the same price point as a Trigon/P6 then it might really be something. We are not starving for polysynths these days.

interesting! I’ve actually said numerous times that they should do something like this! so I’m excited to hear how it sounds and all the details. even though I’ve been trying to slim down my synths!
Same price range as an OB-X8 which is 6750 CAN$ so, around 5000 US$.
I think it’s going to be $1.
