Modular bug bit me. Hard

Been looking around a bit and this seems to be the only option that connects directly to an interface right?

I mean the ES needs its own brand interface if I’m not mistaken.

This is actually an very cool module and one that might give me a crack at euro again. I’m pretty nerdy and I just miss the feeling of patching something up. And after 2 ( we’ll honestly 1) failed attempts im pretty i won’t make the same mistakes I made last time (?!)

YES, the ES-9 is an audio interface and a stndalone mixer and can do recs in 96 the Bored Brain is limited to 48 and connects via ADAT to your interface.

Just to check that off before buying. Seen a few sending it back because of this 48 limit.

Also, while the Bored Brain Optx has DC coupled outputs, the inputs are not. So you can’t record CV, only audio. If you only plan to send control voltage from your DAW to Eurorack that may not matter. An alternative would be the Expert Sleepers ES-3 and ES-6. Those take up a lot more space, though.

Eventually a perfect mix will … never be released :joy:

Haha. So true. Also… reminds me of my music.

48 is fine for me:) But thanks for the heads up.

Also, any idea if it accept normal line levels. Emailed the company but don’t expect a reply any time soon.

Not sure, check this review:

I don’t think it will accept line level, but that’s any easy fix with many options. And since it is an adat add-on you still have the line level on your current interface.

On Mac that’s never an issue of course, aggregate devices are the old normal. I stopped counting my in/outs, I have more than enough on all levels.

Hmmm the all of a sudden 300 euros for a adat breakouts seems pretty pricey

They replied:)

“Yes you can, but of course the levels into your interface would be quite low. If you amplify them in the computer then you will amplify noise, too. So it is suggested to amplify line signals as much as possible before sending into Optx.

Merry Christmas! “
