What?! As of when?

Cheers!

Shit you may be right
Not sure why I thought it was

Damn! I really wanted you to be right. Iā€™ve been lusting after the Peak since it was released; but I have several polysynths already, so Iā€™m trying to resist buying another until something fully MPE-compatible comes along that I can use with my LinnStrument (sigh)ā€¦

Cheers!

Roger Linn has a few listed on his site.

Modor
Parva - https://futureson.us/parva/manual/ search MPE
Micromonsta
Deckards Dream/kijimi (though both are expensive)

And you can ā€œfakeā€ it with most multitimbral synths. Elektron are good for this, the virus line, etc.

Polyphonic after touch is also great with the linnstrument but looking for full MPE.

I wish the Peak had MPE as well as most of the DSI instruments. Dave Smith apparently has commented that it wouldnā€™t be hard to implement so Iā€™m hoping the Rev2 will get it in an update.

I really like it. I got it right before Digitone came out (which I also bought immediately) and Iā€™m closer and closer to thinking that the Digitone is the first Elektron instrument Iā€™m going to give up.

This was the little jam I recorded on my first day with the Modor NF-1m. Totally custom patch. Itā€™s just the Modor and the PO-32 ā€˜Tonicā€™ pocket operator for drums. Korg SQ-1 is doing the sequencing via MIDI (and sending sync to PO-32). Extra variation is being handled by using some of the ā€˜randomā€™ modulation wires in the Modor patch. This is a very heavy bell sound.

Other impressions: I really like the three oscillators and how different each can be. Iā€™ve got another Modor-only track on a slowly-being-made EP that is just the Modor with some noisy oscillators being very ā€œfoamyā€ and heavily modulated by LFOs, while using an additive wave on one of the oscillators to have a very pretty solid tone sitting behind the ā€˜foamyā€™ sounds. I like the on-board effects. Thereā€™s a lot of patch storage available. I really like the overall sound of it and it feels well made. And it has a MIDI Thru port! I havenā€™t tried MPE. But I am happy with the depth of its MIDI implementation as someone who loves automation and sequencing.

If I get around to surviving this creative burnout and finish up this current collection of work, the Modor is going to be featured heavily on it.

Excellent. Iā€™m glad to hear all the positivity. I actually sold the Digitone. I love my Digitakt but wasnā€™t a fan of working on the Digitone. I sold it though to fund an MPE synth. Iā€™ll probably end up with the Modor thanks to the comments here. Looks like Iā€™ll be on a waitlist since there were some production backups according to Perfect Circuit Audio.

In the meantime Iā€™ll probably pick up a Parvaā€¦

Anyone interested in buying my P12 to fund this MPE madness?

The Modor and P12 sound quite nice together, you would be a fool to sell it

I have a feeling I would regret it. I like my P12 a lot but going to the dektop module feels awkward since I will lose all my knobs. I know the screen interface is great but would like a knobbier version.

New favorite synth. Just got ver.2 today and running thru the presets to see what it can do.

Will report back in a month to see how i still feel.

Good to hear the NF-1 gets the love it deserves. Itā€™s just such a fantastic synth! I use INIT only, it just begs to be programmed and explored. God forbid, but if I would be forced to let go stuff, my Microwave XT, JD990 and Prophet REV2 would definitely have to leave first.

Actually, I could do with just a ND2, Octatrack, Shruthi and the Modor. Donā€™t tell my girlā€¦

I actually made a few tracks, Modor only: https://soundcloud.com/binaural-1/modor

Itā€™s great. I def need to read the manual more but it is a very expressive synth. Excellent tracks btw.

Linux (which is nice) and Mac too.

Finally got around to releasing that album where the Modor NF-1 was used fairly heavily. Iā€™m linking to my post about it as it has a track by track rundown. The NF-1m is exclusive or primary instrument in 4 of the 7 tracks.

Thereā€™s still lots and lots I need to explore about this synth but itā€™s really one of the best additions to my setup.

I just published this video about sound editing on the ā€œminiā€ Modor NF-1m.
