Model:Cycles Feature Requests Thread

I’m aware, just yelling into the void

Hello. I was wondering if there were a way to change the piano keyboard layout for an accordion type of layout.

layout would be :

B Gb Db Ab Eb Bb F C G D A E B F# C# G#

semitones is ABCDEF
accordeon is AZERTY

Would you consider an accordion layout for the keyboard mode. Nobody except me can défend this but it should have been done already.

-Its chromatic.
-Everyone could learn something useful.
-It could add a new range of custormers!
-To end the war between piano and the others!
-to be more mighty!

Keyboard scales layout like fold for Syntakt
A separate envelope attack function
A second LFO

I would love to have a ‘reset track’ function on the Cycles/Samples.
The loaded machine/sample would remain.
All parameters would be reset to default setting.

Also a 'Clear automation data function.
With only the one LFO per track it’s nice to create moving sounds by live recording some parameter automation, but often I want to reset this to start again without losing the entire sequence and all the specific parameter locks.

Currently I’m using ‘temp-save’ before altering stuff for a quick ‘undo’ function but I think the above would greatly improve the usability and versatility of these excellent instruments.
Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

ALSO, an attack parameter would be lovely, as mentioned many times above. (I’m well aware you can use the LFO to create a slow attack but I want to save the LFO for other parameter modulation).

Alternatively, this could be achieved by pressing and holding the FUNC key while turning the rotaries.
Especially keen for the ‘attack’ feature, which could hide under the decay button perhaps.

After a year with the m:c, using it in live and jam situation, I only miss a real mute mode.
I know there is a trick to activate a mute mode (holding “func” then click “rename pattern”) but when using it you can’t use the func and track buttons anymore…

Please, please can we have a ‘trig audition/preview’ function. (Ie, press and hold the trig button, then press [track] to hear the sound on that trig).
This would be very, very helpful when making sequences with lots of p.locks.

On the Roland S1 there’s a sequencer ‘step record’ mode where you select the step using the data knob, and then input the note (pitch) using the keyboard (trig buttons).
This is really handy when programming melodic lines - (much quicker and easier than selecting the step using the trig button and then editing the pitch with the data knob).
This would be a great feature to have on the Model Cycles.

Model Cycles MKII is the best new feature that will never happen

would love to see it happen

How long has been with no single update despite all the features requested? Probably a Digitone MKII would be next… But the Syntakt is practically ( as we know ) the Cycles we wanted…

Seems like so.

wen?

I wish I could choose between internal sequencer priority or not.

I use to control the Model:Cycle also with an external sequencer. But I’d like to have the trigs in Model:Cycle sequencer to keep playing even if a incoming MIDI note is received at the same time.

Now it’s not the case and the incoming notes have the priority. That can make sense for people who play around with an external keyboard or pad above a sequence, but I don’t like this.

For instance, I may have a four on the floor kick with high velocity and ad some kicks shots with an euclidean external sequencer (Torso T1 for instance) with much lower velocity. If a note is send from the external sequencer at the same time that a trig, the kick is played at the external velocity and I loose the four on the floor pulse.

This may be useful on ALL Elektron Machines 'cause sequencing with both the internal sequencer and another one (even an Elektron one) is very powerful.

Please expand the LFO setup menu’s Reset option with the option to reset LFO on the first step of a track’s sequence.

Another interesting option would be to select the number of steps to play before resetting.

The menu’s reset options could look like:
Rst: On, Off, Start, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
