When the grim reaper comes a’knocking, have the old grip trainer at the ready.
I train grip really hard so I can dunk on toddlers when I take my kid to the zoo and do the "are you stronger than an orangutan’ machine.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
Thats perfect for me. I’m retired. Have hobbies and a writer. Not fussed about eating frozen meals.
I love Ghost towns(abandoned towns) having stayed at a few…
Think i will soon try it full time.
Same here. This is key. We retired folks are lucky and could deal well with rural living. Anyone younger and not so lucky might struggle. I can see that. Maybe a trade network needs to be set up.
I bet you do.
1st world problem but … as i get more and more plugins i’m losing track of which is which real world synth.
eg. i want an sh101 style synth… so i browse through ableton and might see
lush 101
lush 101 mk2
model 82
sh101
tal baseline 101
mono one
and that is just one of the more straightforward synths.
i’d rather just type in a tag ‘sh101’ and it shows all those equivalent synths for me instead of trying to remember . similar issues with juno (the softube one is model 84 , theres no j106 / j6 / juno in the name, or the tr808 plugin nepheton 2 )
plus all these synths share a core structure with some extras on each… maybe there could be a shared preset system which can load in the ‘core’ section so that the basics of a preset can be loaded into any of the 101 plugins… the additional bits (fx, trimmers etc) are for each particular synth… if loaded into the ‘wrong’ synth it would just ignore those parameters that arent compatible… but i’d still get the bass / pluck / stab sound
or. maybe i should sell plugins and trim it all down…
EDIT - as shown below … i’d planned to look tonight too - there is a tag Editor … I need to add a new Group , and in that group Add each core synth - sh101, juno106, TR808 etc… i can then tag the plugin .
Live 12 supports custom tags:
And then you realise, you’re not Batman.
Fuck you.
I’m batman.
I’ve tested grip strength in a few hundred adults and children. Theres a shit load of reasons why it’s done in clinical research and clinics in general.
With regards to your friend in the gym, what a strong grip helps him do is hang onto something heavy and lift it without losing grip. However, a person with a weak grip won’t have the same success. Don’t mean they don’t have the strength to lift the same weight, rather they just can’t hold on to it. But look at it this way, some people without hands can lift more than people with hands.
You never fail to surprise me.
Succinctly put.
I can imagine these physical tests must be valuable as diagnostic tools. It’s just interesting how quickly the reasoning gets flipped when the studies are reported by the media (or social media, YouTube etc.).
I mean, if you can get strong by training grip strength alone, you can call me the Batman-of-wasting-my-time.
That is so common it has a law and everything.
Damn, that’s pithy! And it was used to criticise the Thatcher government? I could not be more delighted.
did you watch ‘shifty’ by adam curtis (iplayer) … i was born in 1970 so all that thatcher stuff was a bit before i got interested in politics… i was aware of her impact on mining , but the other stuff discussed in the documentary was quite shocking… they totally fucked things up.
I haven’t actually, but I’ve had his stuff recommended to me a few times now. Cheers for reminding me!
A conversation I find myself having often – with folk who are up for a bit of putting the world to rights – is how deeply the Right to Buy has fucked this country.
I guess this isn’t really the right venue for an in depth political discussion, so I’ll just leave it at this: I’m the Batman-of-grief-and-dismay-at-the-cost-of-renting-in-2025.
Stop the press, who’s that? Vicki Vale.
