Well put.
It was a good post but I just wanted to quote this for posterity
Sounds like my brother in-laws apartment!
This post would have been better if it had an Euclidean mode
To me, a happy accident is when I do something loosely controlled, aiming at a target, but failing gracefully by finding a different but nice spot.
An unexpected discovery, a new path to explore…
Could be a few chords ringing nicely while I was trying to do something else.
A feedback that bites in a sweet spot.
The kind of thing that happens while you’re exploring your gear, when you don’t know it absolutely, or using it in a new way… That you try to catch to be able to understand and replicate.
Some gear have more controllable synthesis. Other were designed for constant exploration.
I like both, and both lead to different kind of happy accident.
But I do really enjoy happy accidents.
Not sure the fancy term is right though.
I don’t see what my early 20s have to do with synthesizers.
This thread has looked into my soul and confirmed I’m a lazy twat badger who just needs to fuck off.
It has also confirmed that there are some people that have a sense of humour, and some that do not.
But we knew that already right?
Granted, it’s not my best work…
even the worst doodles by van gogh fetch a half mil these days and when he shit himself nobody even liked the post. hundred fifty years down the road art crits will have this one up in a frame listening to the money counter go brrrrrr.
might need to lose that ear first though.
I fucking love the randomize function of my synths. A lot of very dope sounds to find that way. And i heard a lot of carefully programmed synth presets that sound like random shit.
Maybe there’s more to humour than joining two nouns together and swearing a lot
Yeah, I hate “manifesting” framework but being “receptive” to good things is necessary for me to make things I’m proud of.
I just figure “happy accident machine” is where things are tweakable in well tuned and balanced manner over some stochastic press button over and over sense
I feel like I’m getting such a depiction of your life from these threads!
I’ve never really had much luck with random preset gens, but I must admit that Sting by Iftah does a pretty good job at generating random acid bass lines, which usually sound like garble anyways.
Maybe there’s more to music that hitting randomize and twiddling knobs
Rando Burn
Looks like we got ourselves a reader!
I think you’ll find making the number five larger than all the other buttons is far from random since it’s confirmed to be the most commonly used number.
Sorry about that! Does it make you weep as well?
Lies. Damn dirty lies.
