RYTM vs TEMPEST - killer feature?

i really love my TEMPEST and the last week i tried to find out, why it feels in one way so much more creative than my RYTM. I guess i know now: The TEMPEST has DIRECT access to pattern variations and sound manipulation at the same time. So if the the RYTM would have ONE mode which - on the PERF and SCENE mode pages- gives access (instant or quant. change) to 32 pattern variations with different steps/lengths/timings and with different mod settings, that can be altered by pressure, It would…

At the moment, the only way would be a midi controller with pads.

I never did much with midi contr, exepct little filtering of plugins or similar.
Maybe you can help me with these questions/needed features:

• Slim, to be put in front of the RYTM ( there are slim ones by akai and korg)
• Easy to program /learn function
• must be able to handle mutiple cc’s (as they have to take over RYTM’s pad’s job in perf/scene mode)
• Must have midi in
• can the incoming, through sent midi data (like external clock) be send out before the
  modulations needed for pad performance?
• Must be able to change patterns with the same pads at the same time

One important question - do you require this padcontroller to work without a computer?

If you do, please let me know as well! Currently waiting on bomebox to start shipping so I could finally pull this off with my existing kit, without the laptop of course…

I want to use it with the RYTM, not with the computer.

I want to be able to do PERF MODE modulations
and DIRECT PATTERN JUMP with the same pad.
That way playing the RYTM is much more creative,
Like on the TEMPEST.

The controller has to have midi in, so i can plug
It between other gear and RYTM.

I need this solution until Elektron offers this feature in an OS update,
