MicroTuning on Analog Cymbal machine

Hi Elektronauts, I’m new to Elektron gear and recently bought a Syntakt. I cannot manage to microtune the Analog hats and cymbal machine. Is it possible to do so? TIA

Hi and welcome! And yes, it’s possible! The LFOs can be used as a parameter offset by using a very fast half-cycle ramp. The tune for the ride machine sounds like 1.00 per semitone, and the LFO gets to .01 resolution between -64 and 64 (not positive it’s tuned to 1.00 per semitone there, but definitely finer resolution).

Offset LFO looks like this:

I don’t use the same approach. I usually choose Square, Speed 0, Trig, Trig one or Trig Half.

Nice one! Yes, I hadn’t thought of or tried that, but 0 speed seems like the smartest way to do an offset without the infinitesimal portamento of the ramp.

For a finer resolution, I think a waveform different from Square can be used, with an additional phase shift.

Finer resolution example (I think it suits cymbals microtuning)

SPD 0
WAVE RAMP
SPH 1
MODE Trig

Max offset example :
SPD 0
WAVE SQUARE
SPH 0
MODE Trig
