Micromonsta 2

indeed.
This guy is my favorite synth patcher :slightly_smiling_face:
Unfortunately I don’t own any of the synths heā€˜s done patches for.
Microkorg was my first synth but is long gone

Thank God I didn’t sell it, but I haven’t used it in quite a while. I’m blown away by the quality of these patches, I never imagine the MK was capable of this type of sounds!

Not my first one, I didn’t gel with it.
Micromonsta 2 all the way.

Seems difficult : no midi out.
You’d need a midi out from MM2 to send midi data with knobs for OT midi learn, plugged to OT midi in. Midi doesn’t go both ways in that case.

I think he means to control the MM with an OT through Midi Learn.
I don’t see why you’d need the MM to send out CC’s for that…
Maybe to avoid jump values?

Requires to receive midi to set OT CC numbers.

So it’s quite simple. To control MM2 from OT, set appropriate CCs manually, without midi learn. :content:

just came across this video comparing sawtooth waves:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9GBE_lAmiE

the MM2 sounds very nice. his system 8 has a little more bite, but they’re close.

how do people think this compares with the prophet 12 desktop? browsing that thread earlier today hit me with some GAS. p12 is much more expensive, obviously, has different filters, etc. it’s a different beast. but i wonder how these two compare for sound design. my needs (haha… ā€œneedsā€) are minimal. there’s definitely room for a flexible poly synth in my stockpile. the reasonable choice would be something like this to save money, but now the GAS is flowing.

opinions?

Despite how amazing this little thing is I ended up putting it on Reverb due to massive lack of time and the need for a keyboard synth.

I’ve put myself on the mailinglist.

I like the portability factor and it not being that expensive.
The sounds are decent from what I’ve heard so far.
Not sure if I’ll keep it, but happy to give it a try.

I’ve been really impressed by the MM2, I don’t have a p12 to compare it with, but fwiw, I can’t think of anything that comes close to the MM2 spec sheet or sound for anywhere near the price.
I hiiiighly doubt that you will ever have buyers remorse with it if you end up grabbing one.
I’d be happy to record some examples, if you want to hear something specific let me know.

Can somebody post different Pad sounds?
Would like to know if the MM2 can hit some of those sweet 80’s pads we all love.

It would be very surprising to hear a P12 owner saying MM2 is better in analog registery ! :content:
MM2 is surely more versatile…

right, they’re different things entirely, but i can see some crossovers as far as utility goes. this GAS will pass. i’ll try to grab MM2 when it’s back in stock.

Did you listen to MM1 demos?
Should be very close to MM2 with incoming update.

Have you seen this one?

Thanks, I know I can do that (despite the incorrect CCs in the manual). I’m asking specifically whether the MM2 is capable of sending MIDI CC out. I am also aware about the lack of physical MIDI out. I am using USB MIDI (via a hub) which is bi-directional from my understanding

I mean it’s either memorizing all the CCs or printing out a cheat sheet. Can’t do the former one and definitely won’t do the later one in a live performance. So is it that far fetched to be wanting this?

I don’t think so, even with USB. Doesn’t seem clearly specified in the manual but IIRC @elektrosamplist said it wasn’t possible (yet). Confirmed?

yes, confirmed

please be more specific
