When my MM2 arrived last week, I had similar thoughts as compared to the Hydra, which I acquired a few months ago.
However, after spending time with MM2, and then going back for a few hours yesterday with the Hydra, I can’t say that I feel strongly one way or another about which one is “better.” They’re both spectacular, but I don’t see one outshining the other. The MM2 has a “personality” to it. And while I wouldn’t say the Hydra lacks a personality, there are just SO many routing options and wave choices that one could never get bored created new sounds.
I’m happy to have both, and I can see keeping them both as flagships in my modest setup for quite some time!
(Disclaimer - I have the Hydra Explorer, so as far as space is concerned, I’m not too worried about it. I can see how the bigger versions could be a different issue!)
Arrived sounds awesome but I’m sure the usb b power cable not sitting flush will trigger my ocd. Thai excise and tax department boys also must have been a little drunk when reading the paperwork. Valued it quite higher than what was written. But I knew that’s a risk I had to take.
Is anyone using a stand that can fit an Octatrack and the Micromonsta together, ideally the MM sitting behind/above the OT? I‘ve been looking but can‘t seem to find anything, might have to build a makeshift addition to my OT stand to perch the MM on

How hard would it be to add some kind of ‘‘Q’’ control for the resonance? As always, this synth will be buried with me but I was just thinking the other day that with how pronounced the resonance is it would be nice to be able to adjust it somewhat in it’s width so to be able to control how nasal or chirpy it gets, maybe it’s not possible but I had to ask.
Not really a problem, I like how it sounds. This resonance has its character, I feel it ends on a thin needle. Maybe I have to accept lower resonance values.
