Micromonsta 2

I think you need to purchase ( maybe you can enter zero) and then download the files.

The download only contains the audio files. Unless I have missed something.

Ok sorry. I thought that the presets were inside.

That was my first expectation too, but it does not seem so.

@SirAdrianFish, it should be in the download zip.

With the keyboard update, if you set latch on, it can effectively be used as a 16 step sequencer. I usually have part 1 play a chord pad (# then _ or o to set its length, you can also use this to have a chord droning while working on part 2), and part 2 does a mono ARP. Very fun and immediate, you can play an ambient/Berlin school set with the mm2 alone. MVP

My micromonsta 2 has arrived. It sounds great, much better than my hydrasynth keyboard (hydra is a mega monster but I was fully convinced about the sound).

I don’t know, and I’ve read the manual how to change presets properly. I know that it’s the Mo’s basic but I can’t figure out how to do it. Sometimes double press enters in keyboard mode, by the fault is part B active… I’ve been trying to change presets and init a program and I’ve made it but I don’t know how.

Is by default part A disabled? I can manipulate part B but not part A. Do I need to change modes in the system menu?. Right now, I don’t understand it.

I can recommend this video which should make things like that clear:

Anyone found a good case for the Micromonsta 2 ?

Found this one on Amazon US.

Holds a power bank too. And cables in the upper part.

Thanks, seems like a good size !

Aira Compact case works quite well. Bit snug with encoder knobs when the cables are in, a mm or two deeper would’ve been perfect

I got my Micromonsta 2 last month (for those waiting, it was 14 months as others have said, easily worth the wait) and it truly is a beautiful little synth, very fun to program and I think it sounds great! Recently picked up a DN2 and pretty excited to pair it up with the MM2 to build big stacks of chords with note edit.

I was thinking I would like to set up the MIDI pages to allow for maximum sound design within the DN2, to try and minimise jumping between boxes and reduce the button clicks to get to some of the functions I want. Currently I have osc controls (mix/shape) on the amp page and some filter env/amount controls on the filter page, fitting in other stuff I want like glide where there’s free spots. It’s fine, it makes sense, but I think I’ll need to play around a bit more to get a really immediate set up for sound design.

Just looking for some inspiration/ideas to get the most out of the setup, so if anyone pairs their MM2 with a DN2/DT2, I’m just curious what your approach is to mapping the MIDI? Obviously it’s going to be very subjective but interested if you use multiple MIDI tracks for more pages, map the knobs on MM2 to functions not in the DN, if you found a design workflow that just makes sense, etc. Hoping to maximise the fun!

The best thing about micromonsta 2, at least for me, is the reverb.

No MIDI mapping yet, but I change MM2’s presets via MIDI from my DT2 (I posted a list with SBNK/PRG values somewhere earlier in this thread). It’s the perfect addition to all the Digi boxes

It sure is! Already had a blast pairing it with the Digitakt 1 but now with the extra polyphonic sequencing capabilities of the DN2 and extra MIDI control it just seems like a match made in heaven

Yeah, thanks to the stereo sampling capabilities of the DT2 I could sold my 2nd MM2

Recorded this little single pattern jam with the MM2 and DN2 last night, it’s certainly nothing fancy but had a lot of fun so thought I’d share anyway! MM2 on the chords of course and everything else is on the DN2. Very fun combo; this is mostly punching in random chords and p locks and seeing what happens hahah. Never had a DN1 so not sure if the note editor was the same but it’s so great on the DN2.

Awesome, appreciate this! I was trying to load preset 104 and it was just going to 99 :joy: so this will be helpful, makes sense to set the SBNK!
