Micromonsta 2

Dear you,

This is a great synth but there’s too much talk and not enough demos being posted.

I bought mine in 2021 with very little wait, less than a month. I guess the synth wasn’t as well known back then, but i was already a proud owner of the original MM and knew i could expect quality. Very grateful for the ease with which i got mine, and sympathies for those waiting now….it will be worth the wait!

Would that this were the case for all synths!

Well, I’m not totally sure but I think more than a year. I’m still interested in it. Hope mail arrives soon. I wish the best to this company. Never mind to wait a little, but one year it’s a lot!! :joy::joy::joy:

Sounds like you were really excited for the MM2, got hyped to see the email, and then felt let down and betrayed when the page said it was sold out. That’s all perfectly understandable and I bet everyone here (including the creator) is sympathetic.

Adopting the sarcastic tone, inventing conspiracy theories about hype cycles, and then feigning disinterest sets up kind of antagonistic relationship that I don’t think you intended, though. Usually best to just say how you feel and ask for help.

Apologies for the unsolicited forum etiquette advice.

Thanks so much for this clarification! Can’t wait to start jamming on the Monsta!

I finally got my 2nd MM2 after 13 months waiting on the mailing list. Unfortunately the new one has silver screws :frowning: First world problem, I know. But it still annoys me a little.

Now I have to think about a solution to combine the 2nd MM2 with my current setup (DT2 and MM2). I think I will temporarily mix the audio signals of the two MMs passively and connect the MIDI output of the DT2 to the two synths using a splitter cable.

I know this is not a proper solution from a technical point of view. Sooner or later I’ll have to come up with an active DIY solution for MIDI and audio.

However, its great to have two MM2s. I plan to use the 2nd MM2 primary in combi mode to create mad layer sounds :star_struck:

you should find matching screws on amazon. pull one out, measure diameter and length, go an order some. As it is coming from Europe it will me metric screw sizes.

I think I still have some suitable screws lying around somewhere. But not the highest priority. The Moog-style knobs have to be put on first :yum:

I’m waiting for the mail after more than one year. :crossed_fingers:

Those moogy knobs look great, where are they from?

Edit: and congrats on your second box :ok_hand:t2:

Thanks.

The knobs are from Amazon.

Unfortunately, my new MM2 has longer pot shafts than the old one, so this knobs no longer fit properly. They only fit properly on the volume knob because its axis is shorter.

Grab a small moukey mixer to merge your audio for the DT.

I use this little (active) mixer to sum the audio signals from the MM2s:

For MIDI I misuse this (passive) audio splitter as thru box :yum:

That mixer is neat! How hot of a signal can it handle?

I would Google that but I can’t make out the brand name. Cooi? C8i ?

EDIT: okay found it here

I couldn’t have said it better myself

Can’t believe I managed to snag an used MM2 from reddit at rrp
This little thing is a BEAST.
My only gripe is that the seller sent me the bare unit, no cables (thanks elektron for using USB-B) and no pins (is that still a thing?)
Onto making music now.

PS: elektrosamplist can you sell me a pin?
