Yes, it works just fine. Although, the controls are still limited just like they are in Push 3 control mode, or a Push 2 for that matter. In standalone mode (or rather, without any computer UI interaction) I guess you’d say that it’s playback only – i.e you can change patterns but not edit anything.

Is this going to change in future updates? Or are you depending on Ableton firmware updates?

@ess ?

I wish more devices and also more unusual/esotheric devices worked on the Push 3 standalone. I tried almost all of my collection and most things dont work, sample/grain stuff doesnt work cause you need to load in samples, most modulation and sequencer stuff doesnt work except the Homeland LFO, some stuff that works isnt controllable… a bit disappointing, the thing that makes push 3 interesting to me over my octatrack is basically max for live, but its pretty lacking right now. Hopefully updates will roll in to enable more stuff

I hate doing this, but it’s worth a shot: has anyone tried the 0-Coast programmer available from Make Noise in Standalone?

It is available here:

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I was about to purchase for the sole reason of using M4L (especially Opal, grain and sequencing devices) standalone.

If that’s crucial to you I could Push-enable it.
(But it is not that hard to learn !)

quickie… what about the essentials/buffershuffler?

Maybe a tutorial how to do that? Would appreciate it.

Tutorial- Yes yes and yes!!!

I posted a link already.
In a nutshell,
Click on the device’s ā€œeditā€ button on the device header.
Be sure the patcher is unlocked (cmd+e) and not in presentation mode (cmd+alt+e).
you need to add a [live.banks] object. This is what handles push banks.
Double click on it, and you can add/rename banks.
Then spot the graphical objects, right-click on them, show inspector. Check out the ā€œScripting Nameā€, this is what you want to select in live.banks.
Edit the ā€œshort Nameā€, this is the name that is displayed on Push.
That’s it.

Here’s the modified device, I changed a few things (it was a bit messy, still is, but less) please test before use !

Thank you! WIll try it this evening.

Is it possible to make a tutorial so we can to do this ourselves?

If you already downloaded the device, please re-do (I went too fast and forgot some patch chords).
