I think the MD still sounds incredible!
I have an mk1 it was my first Elektron box and as an added bonus it used to belong to
Richard Devine and is signed on the back, but that’s not the reason I won’t sell it.
I think it’s still competitive against other Elektron gear. It’s a digital modular drum machine / synth, capable of way more than drum duties. I played an ambient set at my friends wedding with my Machinedrum and eurorack modular, none of the patches from the MD sounded like drums. This instrument has some serious range!

Ok so I had to fire up the Machinedrum because of this thread.
I figure I would drop a quick video on how the MD + DN play together.

oh very inspiring!!! I also use these two gears together and really enjoy the possibilities of both. as you said- the machinedrum isn’t even a drum- machine- it’s capabilities of creating sounds you couldn’t imagine before doing is huge.

Ah, dang, but proves itself to still be relevant

??? What does relevant even mean? How can it stop being ‘relevant’? Like everything that could be ‘said’ with MD has already been said?

Mind blown!

the Machinedrum exists in a quantum superposition of nostalgia and relevancy
