Machinedrum Schematics

Does anyone know if there are diagrams for the internal part of Machinedrum MK1 I have been recording tons of music lately with my MD and I want to use pictures of the schematics for some of the artwork. This is my favorite drum machine in the whole world

Elektron does not make technical drawings or schematics available for any of their products. If you were to obtain one, I’d be cautious about using it as that’s still their proprietary design (although I don’t know how thoroughly they would enforce it).

Some of the older promotional material contained a few concept drawings of the outside, that’s the best I can think of.

Anything else you find will probably be user generated, but I’ve never seen technical (mechanical) drawings or schematics made officially available for any elektron device.

There’s some tiny pics of circuits and charts at the old Elektron site via Archive.org:

You’ll probably have to do some time travelling to find broken image links as there are others that I know used to be there but no longer load. Even the archive seems subject to link rot these days.

It’s amazing how great those ads still look - whoever did the OG elektron graphic design was ahead of their time!

If I’m not mistaken it was Jesper Kouthoofd, who went on to found Teenage Engineering. The old Elektron site has all the hallmarks of his style (random bits of Japanese text, etc.)

Wow these are cool thank you all so much.

Wish they would bring out a machinedrum mk3 especially seeing this old art it is so cool to me. I have a syntakt and its cool but nowhere near the wall of noise a machinedrum is.

Wish the machinedrum would go open source since its discontinued imagine the boxes ppl would make…
